Surely it should be Jan 6? Epiphany/Twelfth Night in the Western Rite?

Qualification was good kids; since the tradition wasn’t followed that would mean the kids were not good.

So it’s a couple of days late. On Epiphany, when I was small, we used to go to church and the priest and the nuns would hand out religious pictures. I still have one my father kept for me.

It is still practiced in Puerto Rico, however with the focus on gift giving on Santa Claus the gift is a token gift. Kids believe that Santa Claus has deep pockets and the three kings are just scraping by.

My grandkids had their gifts two days ago…

Three KIngs Day (in Spanish “Reyes”) is still celebrated in Mexico, as the day when children are given most of their Christmas gifts. In fact, many stores have special sales of toys and children’s clothes late on the evening of January 5. In Mexico City (where I live) public transportation was free this year after 10 pm to make it easier for shoppers to get home, and no doubt to help boost sales.

Isn’t this two days late?

In Spain it’s still celebrated as well. There’s even parades on each city to welcome the three Wise Men, where lots of candies are thrown to the kids watching it. And I’m sorry to say that, but they’re better than Santa Claus. They’re three, so they can bring you three times more presents than the red guy brings.
