man: Can I help you? Roger: I'm picking up a pizza. Last name "Fox". man: Oh, yes, the "17/51 cheese, 109/327 sausage, and 86499328/259497984 mushroom." Roger: Er... Jason: Cool! They gave you all our change in pennies?? Roger: Son, in the unlikely event that I ever ask you to order our pizza again...

I Love the pockets!

Uh… what’s the percentage of all those fractions? Does that also make it more or less cheese, sausage and mushroom on a single pizza?
Dewey Premium Member over 14 years ago
17/51 is one-third (17x3=51) and 109/327 (109x3=327) is one-third so the mushrooms are one-third, but I didn’t work it out to be sure. My head can’t hold that big a number.
ksoskins over 14 years ago
How come these numbers didn’t include π?

Sheik, THAT’S for dessert! And they aren’t square!

Hummm, this old Roman computer claims that Gaul was divided into 2.99999995 parts!

Love the pockets full of pennies, but only 1/3 cheese? I say triple it!!
Spam flagged (yet gain…)
Machtyn over 14 years ago
Ah, that’s 17/51, not 17/31. bleeep, small print in the ‘toons these days.

Avolunteer - 1/3 of the pizza is covered in sauce+cheese+mushroom, 1/3 is sauce+cheese+sausage, and 1/3 is JUST sauce+cheese

Victoriassecret knows not and cares not.
How does one spam a spammer!?
Do they really think they will sell one dime’s worth of stuff?
hossblacksilver over 14 years ago
Yeah, flagged the bot as well.
Celecca, is that Digger I see?
runar over 14 years ago
What I find surprising is that he went to pick it up. I don’t order pizza from anyplace that won’t bring it to me.
P.S. Just flag it. Unless you have a comment that’s on topic, the spam about the spam is more annoying than the spam (‘cause there’s only one of it).
catqueen over 14 years ago
Can we change “Flag” to “Flog”?
starguy over 14 years ago
Apparently, Jason missed school the day they taught “simplifying fractions”.
RadioTom over 14 years ago
1) The post is obvious spam 2) it’s sometimes less expensive to do carry-out than delivery 3) Or, maybe Dad was picking up the pizza on his way home from work.
Someone needs to give GoComics a spambot filter.

If you visit too many Victorias with secrets you can get a virus, i understand.

Can we spam An Coulter as well?
littledutchboy over 14 years ago
gillbillvolume1 Your idea sounds wonderful. But their link scares me. What if it is attached to a virus.
And you are so right Rayannina, It is so much fun bashing the spam. It is cathardic, to be sure.
The only thing worse than spam is people telling us what to do about it, as if they have all the answers. News Flash: You Don’t!
1148559 over 14 years ago
@ gillbillvolume1,
The problem with your idea is that you have no idea if the fake number you give is not really someone’s actual number.
I wouldn’t go to a spammer’s site anyway, it is no doubt crawling with key-loggers and viruses.

You should see what happens when Peter orders the pizza.
possiblekim over 14 years ago
Roger, would you like Peter to order the pizza instead? I recall you complaint something about College fee is only a fraction compare to the his pizza toppings :D
Michael Beeson Premium Member over 14 years ago
Usually this strip gets A+ for math, but this time, only a C since the fractions don’t add up to exactly 1.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 14 years ago
Oh, I would have loved to be the one to give out that change and see Dad do a slow burn.
slowflyer over 14 years ago
Mr Beeson,
Respectfully, you get the C, not Jason. All 3 fractions simplify to 1/3 exactly, so they total to 1.
Rakkav over 14 years ago
Jason, you’re just doing that to show off.
(Yeah, I know, I’m being Captain Obvious here, but it’s better than adding yet another comment about our need for the Spaminator…)
lfanterickson over 14 years ago
Nerds just wanna have fu-un! And the pizza place wanted to get rid of all of those pennies, anyway.
captainedd over 14 years ago
I think they got mad because it’s kinda hard to separate a pizza into thirds…
Rakkav over 14 years ago
Not really. Slice it into sixths (relatively easy) and then top every two slices as ordered. :)
(OK, since I’ve never made a pizza, I have NO idea if that would actually work…)
Me_Again over 14 years ago
Heehee. I should try this. I’m a math nerd(ette) myself.
Tijaro about 3 years ago
all equal exactly a third.
