In the current strip, Buggy Crispino is finally visible. You can see it at washingtonpost.com. This is an historical event, like Priscilla getting her horse or the revelation of Charlie Brown’s Little Red-Haired Girl. Does this mean that Rick is about to retire?
I certainly hope not, although there are so many years of vintage strips that I also enjoy reading every day ;-) Just like Bewitched episodes at bed time… I just wish there could be more, but with the dear departed York and () Kravitz…
Maybe I’m just “projecting”, but unlike Lonewolf and Carmy, I come down on the side of believing that Joe is mostly annoyed at Ruthie’s lame pun. (I know that’s often just what this strip does, every time it can create an excuse to do so, but I don’t have to like ‘em.)
I happen to like the dad’s expression as he gives a cop-out example of “July” in a sentence. Dads do that when they get as bored of homework as Joe does. (I know. I am one, my kids’ homework got boring, and I did the same. And my kids didn’t let me get away with it either.)
BTW, I don’t think Joe is slow. He’s just not motivated to learn stuff by drilling it (which is, unfortunately, how spelling and arithmetic must be learned).

And Joe does have that guilty look on his face, Ruthie.

I’m guessing that Mr. Detorie has videos of every Kids Say the Darndest Things that Art Linkletter ever did.

Thanks for the tip, davidf42 - I also like yesterday’s “Lookin’ good, Mrs. Hottie Bombalottie”. I guess Buggy “appreciates” Ellen…

@ vldazzle,
I think Elisabeth Montgomery is also dead… and Agnes Moorehead. Too many gone to bring it back.
