Did people use LEO for “law enforcement officer” in the ’70s or is his name just a coincidence?

At the time, this seemed outrageous— a homeowner blasting away at an intruder. Now, just another day.

i think Leo is pre EMT, back when pumping stomachs was a skill, and apparently, just a driver, at that because you would think another guy would be required to hang out in back with the patient to treat, and not just to pizza. Leo is in a category all his own

Funny memory – in the early 70’s, I dated a woman from Tulsa, and it always amused me that the ambulance services there were owned and run by – the funeral homes!

Extra because Zeke is unconscious? I was thinking which way could that go, but we know Zeke is still around, so it didn’t go that way…

I lived in Jacksonville, FL (Duval County) in the early 70s. They were the first to use EMT/Paramedic service in conjunction with the Fire Department. It was so successful that they made a documentary about it, “Sirens in the Night”. A bit of trivia; in 68, the city and county merged and became the largest city in the US. It still is the largest in the lower 48. (Not “urban area”, actual city limits).
