Rat: And then the guy goes, 'Hey, blah blah blah-'
Pig: Hey, Rat... Mind keeping it down? I can't hear myself think.
Rat: Think louder.
Pig: He can solve anything.
I always think it’s rude when people yak on their phones in restaurants; if I had to call someone while in a restaurant, I would move someplace where my call would remain private.
Yeah, he can solve anything simply by leaving. But he refuses to do so. And then he shows he’s the typical obnoxious bufoon who always has to talk on his cellphone in a resturant/bar/movie theater and then tell folks off when they ask him to be quite.
Loved it when I ran into that a few years ago in a resturant. Woman was all the way across the resturant, say about twenty-four to thirty feet away, and could her her conversation better than the chit chat at my own table.
Heard of a restaurant years ago – cannot remember the place or the name – where the wait staff would gather around anyone talking on a cell phone and loudly chant something to the effect of “Hang up the phone!” They said it worked like a charm.More recently, there was a fellow at the gym I belong to who would always be talking LOUDLY on his phone from the moment he entered until he left. Personal calls too, about marital strife and the like. He usually headed right for the cardio section. Then the owners put up a sign in front of his usual spot which read “Quit Talkin’ & Start Walkin’” Haven’t seen him since.
When I was young. we had a party line and my mom was very strict about not listening in to other people’s conversations. Nowadays, it’s just about impossible not to overhear.
I recall someone saying that if someone was doing that on a bus or subway, he’d curl his middle fingers, put his thumb to his ear and speak loudly into his little finger, saying, “Hey Joe, here I am on this bus and there’s some crazy guy talking on his phone really loud, Can ya hear me, Joe, or is that guy too loud? Yeah, doing great here…” and on until that someone quieted down.
I like it when they have bluetooth, so they sit there seemingly talking to themselves. We used to call those people “crazy.”*Beware, I only do what the voices in my head tell me to do.
Once was in a McDonald’s that had a very narrow aisle between me and a young woman on a phone. She said, “I like to kiss you! I like to hold your hand! But he doesn’t understand!” I felt like saying, “LA-dyyy!” But didn’t.
My husband is hard of hearing. When he listens to the TV via his earphones, he talks much louder when he says something to me. Guess he wants to hear what he’s saying.

One has to admit the cell-phone is truly a new form of being rude when not used properly……………………pollution comes in many forms.

If Pig is satisfied doing things the Rat way, I guess it’s the right way for him….
