As Tracy stands looking at the victim, Anja Nu realizes that there’s been a real murder!

“OH, No!” she thinks. “They’ll all demand their money back.”

Betcha Liz, Sam Catchum, and the entire police force in the audience will simply sit frozen in their seats!

It’s time for three months of standing around!

Has everyone deserted… are we the only ones left margueritem?

Well, didn’t Johnny Nothing say the show was going to be a real hit? Or did he just think that comment like three months ago?

I like Anha Nu’s reaction to a real murder. “Oh, no!” Maybe if Tracy gets shot, she’ll think, “Fudge!”

VistaBill, I always check-in to read up on the comments, not to follow this inane plot….

Leave it to Locher to stop the show when there’s some action. But Sunday approaches, so slow it down for a recap.

Talking heads are so visually gripping.

Whew! I was afraid everyone had deserted! Good morning all.

Were it not for the “Oh No!” thought balloon in panel three, Locher could have strung us along a little, making us wonder if it was a real murder or if Ms. Pelosi was merely breaking down the third wall in order to involve the audience in her “murder mystery party.”

I guess that would have been too clever, so it’s not happening.

Meanwhile, try to mimic Nothing’s posture in panel two: I’ve never fired a gun in my life, and even I know that this is a really awkward way of holding a gun, and that the recoil would be a huge problem if the trigger was pulled.

The face lifts weren’t very successful anyway.

It’s time to put this strip out of its misery.

Who is he? Was he shot? Who got shot? Who shot him and when? Are we missing a few panels? What better place to commit a murder than on stage with an audience loaded with cops?

I don’t know if Nancy will lose money on this or not, the show was supposed to be for charity, but of course the way some charities work……..

He’s talking instead of shooting. I think The Blank will make the common mistake of many villains. Instead of pulling the trigger immediately, he will spend precious minutes pontificating on why he is doing the deed. By then, Sam will have taken his finger out of the popcorn, pulled out his pistol, and plugged the sucker. Or something like that. BTW, why do they call it “plugging” when it seems to be just the opposite? Must be a term invented by BP.

Or the common mistake of DT villains… killing someone COMPLETELY UNRELATED instead of just killing the one you want to kill.

H’mmm. I think someone predicted this would happen…

So much said about so little. Keeps my mind working just trying to follow the various comment threads. Grew up in my Mom’s beauty-shop and could follow up to four conversations at a time for a while. Got older and less flexible since leaving home…half a century ago. Yeah Flight Suit, Nothing’s hat brim will deflect/catch a very hot casing if he fires a round from that pose. Comments on plot: all writers patronize the same coffee shops, swapping/stealing plot elements as we swap comments.

And as yesterday, today Dick Tracy will be played by Bert from Sesame Street.

How did they talk Nancy Pelosi into posing for the last panel?

There she goes screaming to the audience that a ’real murder’ has been commited.

You’d think the seated Police Top Brass would leap to attention. But no ! Nothing happens … and (note), by week after next, Locher will have forgotten what he WROTE and have ‘Nancy Palosi’ announce an “Intermission”, all as if … a ‘murder’ hadn’t taken place, right there on the stage (?)

Only in Dick Tracy ! – There’s some SENILE action at work here !

I’m having difficulty in wondering where the guy that got shot came from (?) Did I miss something. Was he introduced to Tracy and the Blank (?)

And what was the motive or purpose of shooting him (?) Nothing adds up. Must be the two “P“‘s on a lawn in Napperville.

Incidentally, I took the time to count the DEADLY “Thought Baloons” so far … It has 19 … of them !

The Blank is now left-handed, or maybe both-handed, whatever that means.
