Dick Tracy by Mike Curtis and Charles Ettinger for May 31, 2010

On May 29 the guy who’d been shot was wearing a white jacket and laying face down. Now he’s in a black tuxedo, on his back.

At least Johnny Nothing’s right arm is still consistently short.

The body turned over! Fortunately the bleeding appears to have stopped.

Meanwhile Liz, Sam, Teevo and the entire police dept. remain frozen in their seats in the audience watching as The Blank points his loaded pistol at Tracy!

I’m feeling kinda urpy just reading this dreck….

Anja is suffering from the heartbreak of ‘clown mouth’…

“The show must go on, Tracy.”

And on and on and on… Johnny Nothing is going to just stand there for the next few weeks and either talk or think Tracy to death.

“Jump cut” with the body, eh? Let’s see if Tracy’s hand will be covered with blood like it was yesterday as the story lurches along.

As I mentioned before, I think it’ll turn out that even though JB switched guns, Tracy had already switched that gun’s bullets with blanks. The blood? Blood squibs, of course. Like I said, what a 12 year old fanboy would come up with. Not like the blanks/blood squibs bit has been done a zillion times on TV.

I must admit that this post posed a moral dilemma for me. Should I include a warning that what I say could possibly end up as a spoiler? Why give a spoiler alert for something that is pre-spoiled?

The Blank is holding the loaded gun… if he says the show must go on, I’d say that he overrules Tracy here!

I wonder if Tracy is carrying a gun? All the policemen I’ve ever seen always has a gun even when off duty. But… when Tracy was in the 60’ high tiger’s cage, he either forgot that he had a weapon or didn’t have one… Agent Ennen didn’t have one either, I suppose. But that was two stories ago…

This storyline it’s horrible.

I see with this dreadfully podding storyline that Anja Nu had some time to run out and get yet another botox treatment. Methinks the Doc overdid it a bit.

It’s time to put this strip out of its misery.

None of the cops have weapons on them due to the Naperville ordinance prohibiting firearms in science museums except for use as props during a play

Vista Bill That’s one of the problems with the strip. There is a lack of credIbility in sequence after sequence. The Blank pinches a stage gun suddeny it has REAL bullets. No story explanation ! We’re expected to breeze along taking these serious flaws as if nothing untoward had happened.

In the Circus tale, 1) ‘Death Threat’ Notes are called ‘Ransom Notes’ 2) A heavily armed Swat team is stationed at the Circus for the protection of all. When Mr. Pops holds up Tracy they are nowhere in sight (?) 3) Tracy says (9-12-09) he’ll put Ringo under - 24 hour guard. It never happens. 4) Tracy’s gun is taken from him before entering the Circus cage, but he still has his Taser on his Wrist Geenee and Agent Ennen has her Gun 5) Strong Man Fee Fi holds the Tiger’s tail and when he lets go how does he get to the top of the cage to immedietly pull Tracy and Ennen up before the Tiger strikes 6) Why would the FBI place Ringo in a “safe house” the same place where ALL the people looking to KILL him are already hiding ? 7) Why would Mr. Pops hire “hit woman” Louise Trapeze and have her murdered before she did the job ?

Flaw after Flaw ! A comedy of ‘errors’ and ‘contradictions’, and an Author never sure what’s going to happen next who just* changes* the “reality” he had yesterday to put in something he just “thought up” on awakening the following morning.

The fact that it contradicts yesterday doesn’t matter a fig leaf to him !

In the current story he still has his TASER … but watch him RUN !

Brozman had to draw Anja Nu from a different angle, and clearly he had no idea how to do so.

Absolutely no effort has been put into today’s strip. It’s just rehashing the same old art and dialog.

That must be a statement Anja Pelosi is making since there’s no question mark.

Of course Tracy has told Lizz & the other police his suspicions about Johnny Nothing. He has, hasn’t he?

nobody ever calls 911 no wonder they all died, takes 2 or 3 days of - he’s dead, dead?, yes dead - but someone took the time to get him nice clothes without bloodstains
