Cathy: To get healthy for Summer, I'm going on the "farmer's market food plan"! I'll eat only whole fruits, vegetables and grains, harvested as close to home as possible. 100% natural, organic, unprocessed food that has no label because the only ingredient it contains is what it is! Charlene: THERE YOU GO WITH ANOTHER CRAZY FAD DIET!

Now, this one I really like! Unfortunately, there will be a lot of people following this diet for exactly that reason - because it’s an “in” fad - and when the fad changes, they will follow along and change what they eat, to follow the new fad. Still, for the time they followed this one, it will have done them some good.

Certainly sounds like a crazy fad diet, tho, doesn’t it! Imagine what the folks at McDonald’s would say about it!

Ignore her, Cathy! Your plan sounds perfect – keep it simple!

Cathy has a better chance of succeeding with her walking than this crazy diet. Here is a better one, Cathy when you feel like having chocolate walk instead, until the feeling goes away!

Fruits and vegetables? That is not what she scarfed down the other day after preaching portion size the day before.

The MIL cleaned out the refrigerator, and the things nobody wanted were those one ingredient foods.
She’ll be running for the giant size Hershey bar drawer by 6 p.m., washing them down with Fritos and pudding.
Cathy would do better on the no flour, no sugar theory. Everything she craves points to yeast/wheat allergies, which make her crave them, but her body can’t handle them.

I’m all for that…as long as it comes with a side of goat cheese.

Sounds very healthy. But it’s so far from what she’s used to, I doubt she’ll make it one day. How about introducing some fresh foods into her diet slowly- one or 2 fruit/veggie snacks, salads and stir-fry from the farmers’ market, but some foods she craves… increase healthy and decrease unhealthy slowly. But that would be far too sensible for them.

Tis the eating style I prefer but it’s not always organic – you have to ask – especially the fruit growers. They spray the trees.

News today listed peaches as one of the fruits most prone to having chemical residue - and they just came in season :-( My diet is a “serving” of some cheap pizza alternated with healthy meat (like turkey breast that I roast myself) and filling the rest of my plate with raw vegs and fruit (sweet pepper, jicama, cantalope, cucumber, radishes etc which are low in calories and high in other). Also - breakfast starts with citrus, followed by a meal of an egg with other fruit and greek yogurt and whole grain toast with cinnnamon.
