Uh, perhaps you should turn down the sensitivity a little so it triggers when a 3 or 4 foot tall target passes through area you want covered. Just saying . . .
Large rat or baby possum? My wife once confused a possum with “a giant rat”. At first, I only saw a bare tail disappearing stuff, but the slow, smooth movement was not the scurry of a rat. Then I saw the white face and pink nose and the identity was complete. Years later she announced, “There’s a dead possum in our yard.” My reply was, “Are you sure?”
Yep, Arlo, the thrill is gone. It got old fast. ( I love that phrase – “how long before the new wears off.” It’s new to me… how long before the new wears off of it? )

The lamp post in front of my house has an electric eye; it comes on when it gets dark enough and shuts off in the morning. Works for me.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the possum it could be done.

A stray cat used to do that with the security light I installed in my back yard.

They play dead until you come up to them. Then, they hiss, then bite…

I’ve seen possums playing dead in the middle of the road. Very convincingly…

“Scream and run hide under the bed! She won’t ever ask you to look again.”.I loved the mental image that evoked.
