You know, I thought I had a pretty rough childhood. But I didn’t get any stitches until I was about 20 years old. I think it was really because my parents couldn’t afford to take me to the doctor. They usually said, just put a band-aid on it and hold it till it stops bleeding.

Stitches 3 times, broken nose once, broken collarbone twice, fractured thumb, dislocated second toe, and two tattoos :-)

Wow, I must be such a loser for not having had an injury related stitches! Still, my knees are my testament to my bike riding days, so that’s cool. :)

In the 60’s, it seems, the cool thing to do was punch a wall till your fists bled. Now those teens run the world. Suddenly, everything make so much more sense.

I am SO GLAD I never bought into the notion that I had to be “cool” about ANYTHING… especially bodily injury.
