Transcript:
Man: Congratulations, folks! I'm sure you'll make this place into something breathtaking! Dad: I can't believe it's ours! Mom: I can't believe the work ahead of us. Dad: Yeah. Cleaning, repairs, permits, contractors....whew! Mom: Breathtaking already, huh?

New poll up: Who should play Luann?
When Will Quill Show Prudence?1) 16 votes – Never. Luann has forgotten all about her2) 14 votes – Over dinner tonight3) 10 votes – Other4) 7 votes – In the car trip home5) 7 votes – Just before going to bedOther: when they show up together at the warehouse opening; whenever he’s with Luann!; When she shows up to see him!; When he shows his wedding band; Define “Show”. We may never see her. But Quill may “reveal” who or what she is.; ASp; Quill will mention Prudence when Luann asks about her, at dinner tonight.; When its prudent.; Define “SHOW”. Does this mean “REVEAL” who or what Prudence is, or does it mean actually see a picture of Prudence? I think he will “describe” who Prudence is once Luann reveals her immature yet understandable concern.; Keep the Prudence in the past. Bring wisdom on.

That must be some “real life” character in panel 2, so maybe he’s Michael Terry? Traditionally, this is the sort of way that cartoonists pay their doctor and dentist bills.

Good luck, guys. Lots of work ahead. Hope you have a really trustworthy contractor…
Lilikoi70 over 9 years ago
@seismic-2 Ha! You could be right. Or maybe Greg lost a bet.

Yep, there’s only ONE THING WORSE than not getting the building of your dreams…And that is GETTING it! Only to suddenly realize just how much work and expense it REALLY is!

The owner or agent was smiling. “Thought I’d never rent this place.”

That’s some mid-life crisis, Frank! You should have gone for the sports car!
Lilikoi70 over 9 years ago
…or Greg is memorializing someone. That would be nice.

dare greatly, work diligently, and if you succeed, prepare for the associated jealousy.

“I can’t believe it’s ours!” Nor can I, since the project will cost nearly 10 times what they’ve got.

Michael and Terry may be the artist’s family. Or he could be referring to the actor from Bones. Or perhaps the guy from this website:http://www.michaelterry.com/

Michael terry is the former owner, now a real estate agent and he just sold his own building.

I’d be curious to know who that Realtor is. It’s so un-cartoony that it looks like a cameo of someone Greg knows. I love little fillips like this.

Is Greg drawing himself again?

The warehouse seems to be worse off every time we see it.

And now the work (a nasty 4 letter word) begins! Enjoy your Monday. I’m getting my lawn rained on so I’ll have to mow again!

So, the Luann Prudence story, as I surmised, has been dropped, and in all likelihood will never be alluded to again.

The Relator appears to be a caricature of a real-life person, but of whom I do not know.
getyerkix over 9 years ago
To He|| with this! Spin off Gunther into his own strip! I must know what happened/what’s going to happen with Tiffany.

I don’t think Mike’s hairline recedes that much. (One of my favorite shows, American Pickers.)

Mustard Jacket. Haven’t seen something like that since…. “ABC Wide World of Sports”? “The Howard 100 News Team”?
themom1951 over 9 years ago
The realtor bears a more-than-passing-resemblance to the recently deceased Frank Gifford. I’m wondering it that is Greg’s homage to the late NFL MVP (1956) and his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket.

@Gary13..Cabs have their rates on the side and it looks just like that.

Yesterday you complained that it was another strip showing Frank failing. Today you complain that the strip won’t let Frank fail. I think you would complain no mAtter what the strip shows…

I remember when the song “This Old House” was popular back in ’54. Does anyone remember it?

Would you buy a used warehouse from this guy?
Pipe Tobacco Premium Member over 9 years ago
4Oh well, I came back from vacation, and missed commenting on all the interesting “Prudence” panels. Now it is back to the crazy warehouse. I feel so sorry for Frank and Nancy. I cannot believe they are diving into this venture. There is so much more fun to life than slaving away at getting some decrepit old building up to snuff for a multi-tiered art space of some variety of sorts.

That’s as funny a flood in a Fizzies factory. Remember them?

Why is it when people who make a cameo, that the people have more realistic looking faces than the regular characters in the strip? IE: The real estate agent.
Airman over 9 years ago
Cameo guest star is distracting attention from storyline. Could he be Greg’s son (aged a bit), or his agent, business manager, or some local personality? Would it have killed him to use Lady Gaga as the real estate agent? (or, shhh, Donald Trump?}

Soon to be on facebook if not already there: Michael Terry Evans is Greg’s older bro, and he is a realtor.
