I raise property values because of the police presence.

I love the sound of small children playing. To me it’s better than the New York Philharmonic.

Everyone who comes into your life brings happiness to you. Some when they arrive, and some when they leave.

I too love the sound of children playing, especially their little laughter. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

I send my kids out to play as much as I can. It bugged me when my in-laws plopped them in front of the TV every day while I was out of town.

I too love the sound of children’s laughter, but not their screaming (^_^) …which is one reason I live in a retirement community!

In case someone wants to scream at me (which happens almost every time I post) I REALLY LOVE CHILDREN!!!

Jascat - I agree with you, I like children, but their screaming can get really annoying. I think there’s a reason God gave my husband & I only sons and no daughters. Next door to where my hubby lives during the work week, there is a family who have girls, and they scream more than my boys ever did. Not sure I’d want to live in a retirement community, but hearing those girls’ screaming might make me reconsider.

If I raise the property values, I really want to have the police presence with barking nuisance problem that needs to be solved immediately; otherwise, the person who had the barking nuisance problem should be very sorry and get a ticket citation. I really WISHED that the owner who has his stupid pets (cats and dogs) should not moved in his condo in the first place. sighhhh! :-/ My next door neighbor had the same problem with me about that idiotic man who has his dogs that always barked almost everyday.

I love the sound of children playing - especially when the game is “Grand Guignol”.

I live next door to a family with a fluctuating number of foster kids ranging from infants to teenagers, usually around 7 or 8. I love listening to the kids playing in the back yard. Even their screaming is okay, because it means they are having fun. My neighbors are extremely good foster-parents: loving, supportive and good disciplinarians.

We were happy when a young couple with 2 kids moved next door, in a neighborhood that had been “aging” and turning to rentals. It got better when they started a day care, and we get to hear about 6 or 7 pre-schoolers playing throughout the day. Fortunately, the mom is a good caregiver and does not let the little ones roam unwatched nor are they abandoned outdoors for hours on end. I especially enjoy their 3yo who calls me by my surname as though it were my first name.

I agree with Burgundy2! Noise from kids is no problem, but there are some kids who will scream like they’ve just cracked their head open or something, and I’d go running out, but find they just like to scream! After a while you just ignore it, but what happens when some kid actually does get seriously injured and no one pays attention?

And though I’ve known some boys to scream a lot, I’d say I’ve noticed 2 or 3 times as many girls doing it. Anyway, I think it might be good for parents to teach their kids not to scream- they can laugh and talk loud, etc., but screaming is a little too much.

I also enjoy the young kids in my neighborhood and I make it clear that they can pick my oranges (as long as it is to EAT-not to throw) and they can visit my birds whenevever I’m out (because I can always spare time from my reading). My own grandkids all live in other states, so I LIKE being the local grandma in a mixed age neighborhood (NO WAY I want to just be with old people!). Even the SCA friends who I thought were in their 70s like me are really in their 60s ;-)
