Jones, STFU! Some of the people here have never read the original strip, and for some of us the original was so long ago we only have a foggy memory of it. Were you born a jerk, or did you work up to it?
I hope that you and I are much smarter people than these two, about planning this family get a way. Especially about getting ALL the facts before venturing into a two week long vacation into the unknown.
Paul Jones it’s called not being a jerk. SOME OF US haven’t read the whole thing, as we’re not old like you. Bugger off, and stop spoiling it for the rest of us.
Even though this strip is a reprint as Ms. Johnston stayed a long time ago. And Elly’s prediction of a bad time of vacation. I wish I could have one. pt doesn’t allow it or no pay. I see full time taking a nice vacation come back full of energy, and yes I envy them.
The kids will have fun regardless of what the “cabin” is like. When we were kids we just went with the flow.
One of my best memories is hunting bullfrogs in a nearby slough with a new found friend. Mom fixed frog’s legs that night and they were great.
Poor frogies! But I think I’d still like to do that again.
Paul Jones on the other hand apparently is incapable of enjoying anything that “happens” to him. He gets his substitute for joy by
c r a p p i n g on everything nice.
OOO. Now there’s a vision I’d rather not contemplate for long.
Since Paul Jones has such a desire to reveal spoilers, we should all just ignore his posts completely. Skip them. Don’t read them. Maybe if absolutely no one responds to him he’ll think GoComics has isolated him and give up.
If “PAUL JONES” is not a 13 year old he certainly craves attention like one.
Although it is a rerun like he says, not all have had the opportunity to follow the strip every day so yes Paul, you are a spoiler.
I would ask he be banned from making any further comments.
@jaeldid66, quite so - that is, me too. From now on, if I can’t find obnoxious comments that other people are referring to, I will just assume that they have been flagged, and stop looking for them. I have better things to do with my life than to see how easily I can be offended (like the grandmother in 9cwl).
I was probably the first here this morning are saw the spoiler. I flagged it in hopes of getting it deleted before everyone had a chance to see it. Didn’t work. Sorry.
thebird55: By the time I got here at 6:59 pm, est, whatever spoiler comment Paul Jones made earlier regarding today’s comic was already gone (thank goodness).
I posted a comment on Saturday’s strip about this very subject (although I didn’t mention him by name). I asked – very nicely – that anyone “in the know” regarding what’s going to happen next to please refrain from spoiling it for the rest of us who were not here from the strip’s beginning but I was obviously ignored.
I guess I’m glad that PJ comment was removed (I like hints but not spoilers). When we were young (in the 40s) family vacation was WI Dells and a farm with cabins and remote outhouse (sprinkled with lime). Similarly rustic to what is described in the strip. each room had a single bare light bulb hanging for illumination. The only alone time I had was taking a canoe out on the lake (I did at sunset and enjoyed that).
we may get pleasantly surprised, by different splits from the original strip, different outcomes, who gets “hatched” when, and Farley’s heart-rending act of heroism (that one i would REALLY REALLY REALLY like to see come out different).
hint….
When I first came to this site this issue came up. If someone must show off their memory they could at least headline their post with an alert. I suggested a simple:

Paul Jones, a spoiler alert might have been helpful.

Paul Jones, What is your problem?!! How about letting us read the comic!
doublepaw over 14 years ago
Okay everyone can take a week off from reading now……………

How about you all try reading the FREAKING COMICS first instead of everyone comments, then you wont be disappointed.

Paul Jones, just DON’T DO IT! Is that really asking too much for all the younger readers?

…my Harley only whines when something’s actually wrong.
Heck, maybe Paul’s doing us a favor–maybe Lynn will read his spoiler comment and decide to rewrite this arc just to prove him wrong…

I think Paul Jones should have gotten the drift by now .
AZLILSIS over 14 years ago
He will not get the “drift” because he just loves to see his name printed over and over as well as the complaints. Don’t read his comments, skip them.
doublepaw over 14 years ago
Just ignore his posts, he just wants attention obviously.

how many of us that “flag” the spammers does it take before it is removed ?

On the other hand, I came in late, Jones and any other spammers are gone, and I am enjoying the heck out of the strip!

I can’t go camping like that. I need the real bathroom. And a bed, a restaurant helps…. city girl I guess.
