It’s like that old saying:He who hesitates- no, wait…on second thought, maybe I shouldn’t go with that…

Spring it on ’em, or not?Forward thinking would have helped, in this-Fall for the same old routine, like a creature of habit… so…Back to square one!

Um… does a zombie really need to brush its hair in order to look “pretty”?

Hey, time to tell Mom and Dad that you have plans that don’t include them.

Hey Mom & Dad, Luann is 18. And she’s not running off with some guy she just met in a bar. Mom & Dad can advise – but they shouldn’t manipulate…

The "Pulling the classic “I’m the teenager” card
Barry1941 about 9 years ago
A little self centered perhaps? In real life this would be the time for Quill to run for his life.

You’re not a teenager anymore Luann. So that excuse no longer applies.
Sisyphos about 9 years ago
Too late! Too late!Luann has spilled the beans, and the parental units have mopped up!Pleading “I’m a teen” won’t cut it, Luann. You blew the NYC plan!
Make Mine Marvel about 9 years ago
I don’t know why a zombie is combing her hair, and in yesterday’s panel, she mentioned wearing a wig. Someone is confused, here…
And Sisyphos, the way I read it, Luann hasn’t mentioned the trip to New York, which is why Fred and Nancy didn’t know Quill wouldn’t be around to produce the show.

“BTW, there were a number of us who asked about you while you were in time out.”^(Raising hand)

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure this job would violate Quills’ visa. Of course his job with TJ definitely would have so…

Ahhhh, Yes.
“CONFLICT.” The Ultimate TEST of a “Relationship.”
Luann hasn’t Told Her Parents about the “New York Trip” Because She’s was Afraid Her Parents would Vigorously and PREDICTABLY Object to It, Pretty-Boy. So, as Usual with “Teenagers”, She FOOLISHLY Thought that She could SOLVE the Problem by Waiting to Tell Them at the Last Freakin’ Minute.
Got It?
But Now Hold On, Q-Ball. Don’t THINK for One Darn Minute that THIS Little Incident will Mean That YOU Will Have the Luxury of doing the Thinking and the TALKING for BOTH of You after the Two of You “Love Monkeys” Make the Mistake of Getting Married One Day…..,

It’s not easy being a good ghoul girl. Q: How do you put on makeup if you can’t see yourself in the mirror?
ACTIVIST1234 about 9 years ago
The horror. The horror.

I’m surprised Luann thinks of herself as a teenager. Usually one stops thinking of themselves as a teenager once they graduate from high school.
ShadowBeast Premium Member about 9 years ago
It’s not an opinion it’s a fact. Luann is in college she’s an adult now, a young adult but still an adult.

Guess it depends.

So Luann is self aware that she’s acting like a brat.
doverdan about 9 years ago
Luann is not likely to “grow up” very soon.

This would have been clearer if he had said: “Did you tell them about our trip to New York?” As written, the reader doesn’t know the statement is an interrogative until the question mark, which a lot of people may have skipped over.
live2read about 9 years ago
“Are you being overly dramatic and bratty or are you just happy to see me?”
notbornyesterday about 9 years ago
and with that attitude, you always will be a teenager, aka, child
Outsideplaying about 9 years ago
I think Luann is railing at the fact her parents told Quill about the opening and not her. She feels treated like a baby (’I’m the teenager’) when her parents should have communicated with her on equal footing.

What’s with the black face make-up?
Outsideplaying about 9 years ago
And fwiw, I don’t think Frank & Nancy had any real plans for the big opening until the previous strip and the seed was planted. These things take on a life of their own, and now they are off and running with it. Enter (again) stage right, Mr Gray, as someone already said.

No Luann you’re a grownup now. Start acting like one!
