Brutus: Fall - the worst time of year, as far as I'm concerned!
Gladys: How so?
Brutus: Not only do I have to rake the leaves, I still have to cut the grass!
Gladys: Where are you going?
Brutus: To mow the leaves!
I used to rake, blow leaves, or even use my leaf blower as a vacuum sucking leaves up and mulching them straight into the garbage can. I have an adapter that does that, but I have since decided its just easier to leave them…they naturally fall apart and decompose, by spring they are gone.
My trees don’t lose their leaves until December anyways, often after snow is on the ground. They do start in November but they have a high cold tolerance so it takes them extra long to change and drop.
Mow the leaves: That’s how I do it. Too many leaves to rake on an acre and a half. One last mow for the grass and get most of the leaves. And what falls after that gets mowed in the spring.

Depends on your soil. Around here it just sits on the top, never decomposes, and then swirls around in interesting little patterns when it rains.

That’s what a mulching mower is for…….

You shouldn’t rake the leaves in your yard. You should mulch them with a mower. It’s natural fertilizer for your grass.

That’s what I do. Saves my back; saves my hands; saves the landfill.

That is just what 1976 Wheel Horse Riding Mower and Mulch Tractors are for…just pull your maintenance and they go forever.
