After a while, she’ll tire of hearing nothing but things that begin, “Joy smells like a…”, “Joy is a big fat…”, or “I smell a moldy bra.”

Here is another useless fact: It is not Coffee Clutch, but rather Coffee Klatsch, from the German word for gossip. Of course, the word for coffee in German starts with a K.

One day Joy’s going to overhear something that she wasn’t supposed to!

My hearing used to be so acute I could always hear every conversation in a room, even a crowded one. I hated it. My brain apparently has a hard time tuning out any sounds – I don’t know what “background” sounds means. A slight bit of hearing loss caused by a medication I didn’t want to take made it easier for me in public. Sound was usually painful for me. Loud talkers could make me squint with pain. The first time my hearing was tested I was told she had never tested anyone who could hear as well as I could.

Small (barely legible…) print at bottom of “dues” sign reads: "If any dues whatseover left unpaid at the sound of the bell: all lights will extinguish, ’ “yellow” note (refer Orwell’s 1984….) will sound all about the darkened room, which will then lower slowly deeper and deeper into the building….where the REAL fun begins!"

Wait till one next to their table back fires see if that goes thru the hearing aid.

Looks like the colorist forgot to make the flowers orange.
