When using your fingers to count or doing simple arithmetic, do you also include the thumb as a finger, or is that a no-no?

We had a high school graduate intern for a while. She had to do some simple math for her tasks. She had no clue. Her reply threw me. “I don’t get that point sh!t. I’m okay with just numbers except that point sh!t.”

After six months she got some of it. She started dating one of the sales guys. They got married. Years later;Two kids. One of the kids, a girl, is smart. The other is like his Mom. Genetics? Dunno, you do the math.

The calculus of infinitesimals…i.e. Burl’s bank account.

Calculus should be good for Burl’s finances. A series asymptotically approaching zero.

…you could “add on”, Jer, that some actual $$$$$$ in his account at the moment would be helpful……..

I only had basic math. Addition and subtraction and division. Might have had a tiny bit of geometry…

Is calculus the force that causes Burl’s checks to bounce…?

My kids all were great at math, all stumbled on calculus in college.

yeah…money talks, alright…but all it says to me is “goodbye!”

Went into medicine because I thought it did not use that much math. Went into a speciality that uses calculus all the time.

Surprised you even know the word calculus
