From “lost it” to simply “lost.” That’s not progress.

“Shall I tell you how she’ll die, little cat?”As crazy as this world is, I never would have expected this. Mind you, I never expected the Spanish Inquisition either.Mind you, there are dittos in play here, and some pretty advanced technology. This may not be what it seems.

Congratulations! The comic has become 100% less annoying with Holly’s untimely disintegration. And there was much rejoicing….“….yaaaaaaay.” waves flags

Not a trap. You don’t give poisoned water to dying people, and you don’t teleport dying people to places that will kill them.Tell you one thing, this is something that Topsiders would never fall for.

I can’t say I entirely approve of Aron’s story telling at this time. He hasn’t been efficient or clever in how he progresses. This whole ship affair is a twist on events we’ve seen before. But if Arron’s trends are consistent, we’re likely about to finally see what’s eating at Holly. The trap itself does make sense. All the other characters are going to more then get it. But Holly simply doesn’t care anymore. So it makes sense she would charge in with no sense of self preservation or control.

I haven’t read any comments yet, I want to say my 1st reaction.Could Holly been a ditto construct for the past few,, days,, days worth of of recent pages. Maybe at some opint right after they got out of the door from Unity, some one grabbed the real Holly and put a construct in he place? She has been a totally different character since then. She has had some spots of acting non-rationly in the past, but all this anger hasn’t been true to what we know as her character, her behavior.

Holly did not get taken by the dittos. She is elsewhere. Her voice shut off. Dittos can’t hide sound like that. The dittos may have provided the image of the table and food but hid the trap which just snatched Holly out of this reality.A faint voice is heard as Holly vanishes completely…..“My God Its full of CHEESE!!”

Trivia Time: Astro is the family dog from the TV series, The Jetsons. His speech pattern is nearly identical to that of Scooby-Doo, since he was voiced by the same actor. Both series were produced by Hanna-Barbara in the mid to late 1960s.

As to Holly’s fate… Only time, and the cartoonist, will tell.

Holly smoke!Looks like she got her death wish. That’s what “I” wants Wally to think, anyway. “Predict” her death, make it look like it happened, and Wally is supposed to move on. There’s even a rebound girlfriend ready for him. Now I’m more suspicious of Kirbee, because she may have been set up as a distraction for Wally, knowingly or not.

I just had an interesting thought. Aaron said the Lucraneans are native to this world, but somehow not known to exist by the world. They have technology, books, culture, etc., that don’t seem to be human. They salvage and adapt human artifacts. They control dittos, which don’t seem to be human technology. Dittos don’t seem to be technology, either, but tiny creatures working together as colonies. I think it’s possible that the Lucraneans ARE dittos, or more cohesive colonies of them. We’ve seen that the dittos can form solid objects under Wally’s control, and they’ve talked as Wally’s doppelganger in the fight ring. Lucraneans could be self-controlled ditto constructs, more independent than the Opabinia Queen’s AI. They can mimic non-ditto objects, and could have been mimicking Jim. “I” could stand for Intelligence, but not artificial. The Opabinia Queen is a Lucranean ship, and this one is walking like a duck out of water. It looks like for a long time the Lucraneans have been manipulating Wally and company. Nothing is what it seems, including the dittos.

This doesn’t feel like the time for Holly to go. If she were to just die or disappear from the strip altogether, it would leave too many questions about how and why she went crazy. I couldn’t imagine Aaron leaving those questions unanswered.I feel that Holly was taken somewhere but don’t know where or why? Is this related to Wally’s crazy dream about young Aaron Marx, Erin Marx and the eye balloon? Was she taken by the guy who’s been “stealing the shoes”? Is this boat a Lucranean plot to kidnap anthros as slave labor? Am I ever going to stop writing long winded posts full of pointless speculations on where this plot is going? Hopefully we will get a few answers in the next week or so.

Kirbee keeps showing her mettle. Some seriously quick reaction times. Maybe not a brainiac, but her mind makes very quick, decisive and effective actions, unlike our crazed mouse and the befuddled cat. (Tho he does have his concern for Holly messing with his straight thinking…)

Can’t wait to see what’s next. Suspect Holly’s ok, tho.

Has anyone mentioned yet that Holly’s morphotype is “prey”, and she’s surrounded by two predators significantly bigger than her, and they seem to be teaming up? What does a prey animal do when threatened by predators?

So – was the water real then? And did they ALL drink it? The food may be an illusion but whatever’s behind this may have realized the water was an absolute necessity or they’d all be dead.

There was evidence that dittos can hide sound when, Gustine was hidden from Albert. Gustine must have been calling for Al, but neither he or Petey were aware of where she was until after the dittos hiding her and Petey from each other were gone. So it’s possible that Holly is just being hidden, and the others may be hidden from Holly.

Instead of “death by cop” Holly has opted for “death by unexplained post-apocalyptic phoenomenon”
