Well, that should cover things until next year. Bye!

OOO! So sad! Be sure you can handle this, Janis. Some of these stories can turn you inside out.

I guess they are missing the trees, not the solitude.

From the “Janis Walking” strips, I get the impression that she isn’t very neighborly.

Sad that she only speaks with an elderly neighbor once a year. I have a sweet neighbor I see almost every day and by “see” I mean I go over and sit with her and talk or watch TV, make sure she is ok. She is a wealth of information for what life used to be.

It’s funny – people say :elderly" or “Golden Age” and I think Oh, that’s other people. But I’m 73, and probably well past being elderly. It’s always other people.

Maybe With all that warmth, wit, and sharing, once a year is all she can take.

For those of you claiming senior status (me too btw)…reading your posts you are obviously still “with it” so I say (unless you want to use it as an excuse when you trip up) quit it! Cause I’d never figure you age if you didn’t squeal on yourselves! LOL!

I never comment but thought I’d make an exception this time. Last year I was 23 for the third time. In a year that won’t divide out nicely or at all, that’s a prime year.

Have a merry and a happy everyone! (That’s for the upcoming at the end of 2016.)

Janis hardly speaks to her kid and his family so why should she bother with neighbors? been years since she’s bothered with Gene or the boat they bought.

Janis knows both of their names. That’s a lot better than most of my neighbors.

Somebody says they’d miss you, and so you insult them? That’s seriously rude.

Odd, I read this as Bill and Katherine speaking annually hence all the time in the yard. Most commenters read it as Bill and Janis speaking annually. Now I see it either way.

    Yeah.

The cabin in the woods doesn’t require all that constant Yard Work..And the Neighbors never complain when you don’t trim the Oak Trees.

For the limited time I’ve read this strip, they seem to live in a very strange neighborhood. No wonder their kids never visit….

I read this as the guy has a sense of humor—and knows how to use it to connect to others.

I take this as a shot at Janis, but nothing has kept him from starting a conversation.
