It’s his build! I’d recognize that bloated, decomposing physique and those huge feet anywhere!

    Also, in Panel One, um…

    How shall I put this?

Let’s just say I don’t think this is the most appropriate time for Mrs D to be kneeling in front of Tracy with her face at the same height as his crotch.

From the dialogue it sounds like Mrs. D’Buckworth looked at the body in the morgue between yesterday’s and today’s strips.

Mrs. D’B: “It’s him, it’s his build. Before he died he looked badly decomposed.”

A double whammy for Mrs. D’B? She hasn’t had one of those since her honeymoon.

Re: 3-D’s body build. Great minds think alike. When I signed in, I checked for comments – nothing. Then after I commented and refreshed the page, assuming I might be the first commenter, I see your astute observation beat me by three minutes. Man, this commenting feature is SLOW.

Follow up to Flight Suit’s comment re: Mrs. D,B on her knees in panel 1. She’s praying to the great god, Two Way Wrist Radio, and will soon receive digital communion.

Not a double whammy! Is that something from Lil’ Abner?

GoComics gave me a fit a bit earlier. I switched from IE8 to Firefox and still had problems. Might have been my browser rebelling against all the ads GoComics was trying to download.

I like the way the Department keeps trying out different Police signs. Wonder what the next one will look like?

Good memory, VistaBill. I never followed L’il Abner but I was intrigued so I did some Googling and found this:

    http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/119750.html

‘Double whammy’ is often associated with Al Capp’s Li’l Abner cartoon strip, which featured the phrase several times. In that it referred to as an intense stare which had a withering effect on its victims. For example, this piece from Li’l Abner July 1951:

“Evil-Eye Fleegle is th’ name, an’ th’ ‘whammy’ is my game. Mudder Nature endowed me wit’ eyes which can putrefy citizens t’ th’ spot!. There is th’ ‘single whammy’! That, friend, is th’ full, pure power o’ one o’ my evil eyes! It’s dynamite, friend, an’ I do not t’row it around lightly! … And, lastly - th’ ‘double whammy’ - namely, th’ full power o’ both eyes - which I hopes I never hafta use.”

Maybe the Naperville Police Force should put Pappy Yokum on the case.

Vista, have you installed an ad-blocker in your FireFox?

I have, and I never see the ads!

Now if I could only remember the “important things”!

I know Firefox has features galore but I seem to like IE8 and it’s behavior (or misbehavior) so I only use Firefox when I have a problem with IE8.

You refreshed my memory Panel-Panner. Evil-Eye Fleegle was a character in “Feerless Fosdick”. Al Capp’s “make fun of Chester Gould’s Dick Tracy” that appeared once in a while. Fosdick was a real blunderer like the present day Tracy we know so well.

She kneels in answer to his fervent prayer Tracy knows he has a player Mrs. Trey-D has got the gift She even ID’d the rotting stiff But all is not fun and games Her wealth has gone down in flames But those are not worthy of merit The real mystery, out, we must ferret Look closely at the station Your eyes are in for a sensation The architecture is without rhyme The art work is a crime The doors, they face one way The sign, their lead, does not obey The building faces who knows where God, it makes me want to swear But we have been here before And appears we are in for more So what will we see next At which we will be sorely vexed? More plot filled with holes Artwork in its last throes? Yes, these things and more Are for us, in store So grab your bottle and take a swig Then you won’t give a fig.

To those who left kind words, thank you. My absence was just my moving from one state to another. (I move real slow)

Vista, I think there are ad-blockers for IE8. Only get ‘em from trusted sources, though!

    Jumping Jesus ! ?

How did that new “POLICE” sign, now minus - “Hdqtrs” (or ‘Hooters’) JUMP down - one whole floor to rest atop the porte cochere entrance - AGAIN ?

They are bouncing the Sign around like a Ball

As an earlier reader noted, blocking natural light and vision from some upstairs offices.

Even the four door entrance has been morphed down to just two !

Hi Maxine, great to hear from you! I haven’t disappeared, just spending my time with my ongoing Annie story. Doing my part to keep her spirit alive. I have six loyal readers, almost as much as Dr. Magpie and Nurse Tracy had! LOL. Hope all is well.

    Peace.

Tracy invited Mrs. D’Buckworth to his home last Thursday. Remember? Locher doesn’t seem to….

On the other hand, both Mrs. D’Buckworth & Tracy have hands at the end of their arms today. A hand is a good thing to have at the end of your arm.

Bassman: You have more than six loyal readeres. Some of us don’t post often - or maybe at all. Your story is very exciting and each installment leaves us wanting more. I remember the old time movie serials that brought you back for more. The writing is as good as there is and so much better than the most.

For any of you Li’l Abner fans of yesteryear, there is a comics website that re-runs that comic series. I go to it every day. (It has lots of other good comics as well.) Its URL is: http://comics.com (Note: there is no www in it.)

Said Panel-Panner: “Maybe GoComics Net Nanny has to read every comment, that interfering uptight bitty.”

Hmm… but that would imply the Nanny reads and approves all those Chinese spams… maybe she’s a specialist, only looks for naughty language…

WW, always enjoy your poems. Glad you’re back and not mad or something. Hope move went well. BTW, I had thought your name was windwriting, but today I noticed that the next to last letter is an h and haven’t been able to think of a word to fit. If it’s your secret, that’s all right.

Great Dick Tracy comic strip today. Love the classic Two-Way Wrist-Watch.

Looking forward to Sunday’s color Dick Tracy! Always Great flashbacks of the week… With an added Cliffhanger to boot!!

Always enjoy seeing Tracy in full color, not to mention Crimestopper’s Textbook!

Normally, a “troll” is someone who makes unflattering remarks in a forum where everyone else is praising somebody or something. The “troll” doesn’t necessarily mean a word they say … they have fun just by being contrary to popular opinion.

I think what we have here is known as a “benign troll.”
