I bought a little button once (pinback, not clothes fastener) that says “The fact that nobody understands you doesn’t prove you’re an artist.” It reminded me of a friend… nice guy, really…. but always whining about being misunderstood…

In his late 40’s at the time… neither terribly attractive nor very gainfully employed…but always getting big crushes on pretty, flighty, 20-year-old girls. They rejected him…. because, of course, he was “too artistic” or “too smart” (after all, as he often announced, his IQ was 135.)

So one day he saw my button… which cracked him up. Said he knew a guy who was totally like that.We never see ourselves. In fact, maybe that button describes me. How would I know?

She’s almost found her calling – just add an F and she’s got it!

“Though in our present economy a job isn’t a job if it pays very poorly.”.Strange definition. .A job is definitely a job if it pays at all.We had jobs to do when growing up which didn’t pay at all. (The fact that others call them “chores” changes nothing.).And, of course, a job as an intern doesn’t usually pay other than giving experience and exposure toward possible paying jobs in the future. This might be good pay or poor pay, especially for those who do poor work and can’t get along with coworkers..An artist at work is on her job even if what she creates never sells.
