Tracy’s a brave man to go into that creepy mansion! Is that a giant smartphone attached to the east wing? And what are those ghostly-looking creatures crawling on the wall? I sure wouldn’t even think of going there at night alone!
“Hello Friends. I’m getting ready to go into strange territory tonight. Want to join me? We can get mugged together!” (Click) “Hello, hello.” “Operator, I was talking to my friends and got cut off!”
H’mmm. Remember when the last story ended and we saw that “homeless” person ? Someone else has suggested this…but I’m betting it’s 3D. Somehow he has lost his memory. (or maybe the bad guys did something to him).
Those two “friends” are grinning because they know they”re safe from the bloated, lumpy, silhouetted thing. On the other hand, those grins look like they’re looking forward to being raped by that potato sack thing.
BTW, whats so funny about 3D being in DC, especially since he has a lot of friends there?
Rightwingmoron: Hootr’s couldn’t survive after trying to show us how they are such a “family” business on “Undercover Boss”. The poor boss/owner was soooo surprised that people didn’t want to take their kids.
For some reason I just can’t work up much fear over the two shown in “Crimestoppers”–If I ran into those two on a dark night the only threat would be in laughing myself to death.
I’m getting ready to go out. I’ll possibly be in strange territory. Now to find someone to go with me. I’ll buy them coffee and a donut at the Police Diner on the way back.
Wow! Very unusual CrimeStoppers today. The female form with her hands in her jacket pockets, in shadow, really should have called friends. Those are some strange strangers.
All very solid Dick Tracy drawings today. I especially like the drawing in the center of the strip with the blue background. The D’Buckworth house that we have seen only in black and white, in the daily comic strips, looks fantastic today IN COLOR!
Just a wonderful drawing today of Mrs. D’Buckworth in orange in the second to last frame. GREAT STUFF. And the use of color in the last two panels really sets the mood.
Rightwingmoron said, “For those who like this picture of the D’Buckworth Mansion , this is #3 in a series of 27, Each picture of the D’Buckworth Mansion will have different architectural features. Collect them all!”
Simon Penn, are you SURE you don’t have a cousin whose wife is named Judy Hansel? There’s only one fellow in the country who gets as turned on as you with Locher.
What is that thing that looks like two TVs on a pole in panel 3 (or panel 2 if you don’t count Grimesloppers)? It appears every other time they do a shot at HQ. I keep seeing this thing and I don’t know what it is.

@ Panel-Panner, Has WW been here recently? I haven’t seen him on other sites for a while.
Agreed, the “woman” is twice the size of and scarier than both “strange” men together.
Today’s strip is a recap of the past week. First, Tracy was at headquarters discussing the possible kidnapping, then went to the mansion to interview Mrs. D’Buckworth about posiible friends/enemies. Maybe I should only read Sundays.

I believe they’re a holdover from the 1970s. The police department probably don’t know what they are and are afraid to remove them in case they are something important.
I haven’t seen WW around here in a while. But that’s understandable: how many times can one wax poetic about DT?
You wrote: “Maybe I should only read Sundays.”
Sorry to everyone else who’s heard this before…
DT runs the same storyline during the week and on Sunday, making it fit so that readers who only get the strip on Sunday can still follow it. But you point out the big flaw with this set-up: Why bother with the rest of the week when you can still follow the story one day a week? Maybe TMS could save some money…
The Phantom, on the other hand, runs a different story on Sunday.
It reminds me of what I’ve heard about TV soap operas: most of the action happens on Monday and Friday so viewers would only tune in on those days, skipping Tuesday thru Thursday.

So it’s just now occurred to Tracy that the guy might have been kidnapped?
And what’s that bloated, lumpy, silhouetted thing in the Crimestopper’s Textbook?

While most people concentrate on the front page of a newspaper, I guess Tracy is more interested in the Victoria’s Secret ad on the back page.

When in strange territory the rule is similar to being in bear country.
Make sure you are with a group of slow runners.
