Serious question for the moment. Would that actually be true? Would the air molecules continue to exist through time or would they break down into constituent parts and be recombined into “new”, as in different, molecules?
The molecules are altered every time they are breathed in and out, and are altered by other organisms nearby (such as plants), so except for people in the immediate vicinity and within the next few moments, no one will ever again breathe in the exact same molecules we are breathing out now.
I beg to differ, you breathe in a combination of nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide. Some of the oxygen is taken up and changed to C02 but the initial Nitrogen and C02 remain unchanged.
Same is true for water. All the water on the planet is the same water that was here millions of years ago. Air and water go through changes over time, but the atoms that make up the molecules are the same ones as always.
IF evolution is true concerning how old everything is – than what is to say that over the billions of years that the same molecules that the dinosaur breath out isn’t the exact same molecule I would breathe in? billions of years, billions of recombinations of the same possible atoms = possibility of exact same molecule – therefore in ‘theory’ this could be true?or in the language of the atoms:hey pete good to see you againyeah george, long time no see LOL
Gosh guys, he’s a caveman. You could leave him with a smidge of room for scientific term error, couldn’t you? If he’d been more general and said, they’re going to breathe the same air as us, someone would pick on that too. Sometimes I wonder how much different the air smelled as recently as a couple thousand years ago. I’d imagine there’d have been more of an eau de manure and excrement, as well as, more smell from rotting meat and vegetation, and much more body odor.
I’m surprised no one has questioned the “millions of years” dialogue in the script. The facts fit a young earth theory far better than a long-ages evolutionary theory that disenfranchises God from His own creation (Evolution is not ‘scientific’ like they would have us believe – you can’t replicate a one-off event). At the rate the human genome is breaking down the human race would have been extinct long before this and stale air would be the least of it. Of course God has the stale air covered with plants and trees filtering and replenishing our oxygen supply.
To further complicate the question, consider how air dissolves into the oceans and is released into the atmosphere from the oceans. Therefore, a rate both ways would be useful. The total dissolved in the oceans should be known.Further, we know even rocks take up air in chemical reactions.Much fun!

Well at least the Dino didn’t expel some methane ! ;-)

Wow! People that read comic strips are very smart. I just thought it was good the released “air” came out the front end of the dinosaur.

If the plant-eating dinos were like cows, they would emit a lot of methane.

Good thing he didn’t point out we are also still using the same water as back then

you’ve also breathed the “same” air Hitler did.

remember the law, you can not create nor destroy matter you can only alter it.
