Especially bad news for Social Security recipients who have not had a meaningful increase in benefits in years. Also, those receiving food assistance in Republican states where their benefits have been slashed to next to nothing…

When the cook in a restaurant takes longer than expected, I always comment (softly as not to be overheard, of course) to my husband that the cook is out back collecting the eggs, herbs, and slaughtering the cows and chickens and fishing in the river for all of the meal tickets he got from the wait staff. Of course, the joke doesn’t end there….he has to churn the butter, make the cheese, etc. Fun times!
