Brutus: Your lamb chops are ten dollars apiece? What did you do - raise them yourself?
Butcher: As a matter of fact, I did raise them myself...
Butcher: Just yesterday, I raised them from nine dollars.
When the cook in a restaurant takes longer than expected, I always comment (softly as not to be overheard, of course) to my husband that the cook is out back collecting the eggs, herbs, and slaughtering the cows and chickens and fishing in the river for all of the meal tickets he got from the wait staff. Of course, the joke doesn’t end there….he has to churn the butter, make the cheese, etc. Fun times!
