I was too young for “Rat Patrol”— heard about it and watched one episode— a fight over a watering hole. The gent in the Jeep was threatening the Germans with an M-2, unloaded and no belt even in the can. I also made the mistake of bringing up the show with a former NZ soldier. He set me straight. Of course, “Hogan’s Heroes” and “Black Sheep Squadron” had the same, if not worse attention to detail.
I remember one day my husband & I were home. I was watching an old sci-fi/space movie on TV. When it finished, I changed the channel just in time to see a space shuttle blow up. It was neat…until I realized that it was the Challenger…and it was a live news broadcast.

My favorite war comedy was “The A Team”; I loved how they could run through machine gun fire and never take a hit…
