Now good luck finding that film, Bernice.

I can’t believe that no other students in the dorm would be interested in the silent film other than Piro.

Which brings up the question: isn’t this in fact the way that college students watch movies nowadays, each one watching their own selections on their own screens any time they want, instead of gathering together at a specified time and place to watch a film chosen by someone else?

The film is being shown on Monday. That gives Piro 4 days to tell all his friends that one of the all-time classic horror flicks will be shown in the dorm commons. Since Piro knows a lot of people (by virtue of imposing on them for a place to sleep), he may invite a lot of folks who will be interested in seeing the film.

I agree, that film is a classic, probably the first horror film ever made, and even though its about a century old it’s still very scary. Bernice will probably get the opportunity to move right next to Piro because of how she would be startled. I wonder though if the storyline is that more people would actually want to see Nosferatu, than Barberella. That will be a problem I think.

The thing about movies is you don’t spend any time actually interacting with your (for lack of a better word) date. Have fun while Piro watches the movie, Bern. Better have a followup over coffee, if he’d even stand still for it.

I don’t know why but I’m hoping this goes very badly for Bernice.

Piro is a rather unique character. I get the feeling that most college students these days would be like, “Nose for rat who?” (Gesundheit) and would have to google it.

Ok folks, here’s my prediction. She will totally blow this by: 1-the film not being available2-he brings a girlfriend3-he brings a lot of friends4-the guy who likes her comes and ruin the whole plan.

Bernice is going to be crushed when Piro shows up with his significant other.

I don’t recall Bernice’s name being on the poster so how did Piro know it was hers?

Years ago I hosted a film party to watch the classic movie “Woman of the Dunes”. The action occurs mostly at night, and the video tape was so bad nobody could make out any of the action, even three feet away, but everyone could perfectly hear the excited talking in Japanese. Oh well, the pizza was good.

Fortunately, Bern was able to find out the name of a silent film. Otherwise, she’d wind up showing Mel Brooks’ “Silent Movie”.

Actually, this would be an opportunity for Evans to expand the variety of his cast members, if a hearing-disabled student shows up to watch the silent movie.

What if Piro and Bernice comprise the wrong couple to watch in relation to these movies? Imagine naive Tiff and Gunther going to Barbarella where they become curious but embarrassed, only to sneak in late to Nosferatu where they wind up holding each other from fear.

Wait until the vice squad shows up. Bernice will make the cover of National Enquirer. “College Party Girl…….”

That’s all I could stand of it. . .

We use the Presto Power Pop for microwave popcorn. So we use plain popcorn kernels and season it as desired.

I was using the microwave type for a long time, till I started feeling like I needed to do smaller portions for snacking late at night. They used to make smaller bags, but I haven’t seen them around in a while. So I started just throwing some generic popping corn into a brown paper bag and microwaving it; sure enough it worked, I can make less at a time if I wish, and I top it with real melted butter. Now when I go back to the prepackaged microwave type it sorta tastes artificial.

What’s up with Toni and Brad? Haven’t heard from/about them in ages!

I’m trying to remember the last time there was a strip with Brad/Toni at the fire station.

It was January 13 & 14 of this year, when they were trying to set a date for their wedding.

If the springs storms don’t stop, we will all have to think about building the ark, and none of this will matter.

Except that we have established in the past that the strip is set somewhere in Southern California, where we didn’t have the spring storms this year..OTOH, since the wedding is now apparently set for December, there could be early winter rainstorms to contend with (if we’re lucky).

I like Bernie’s Happy Dance (panel 4), but consider it premature. The plan has not yet succeeded, Bernice. Wait until you actually have Piro seated next to you in a darkened room….

Question for the historians. Bernic’s happy dance reminds me of a dance Delta was teaching them long ago but i do not know if i am right. Am i right, or just misremembering?

I was talking spring storms in Texas, the plains and the southeast.

Texas, the Plains states, and the Southeast do not exist in the Luanniverse.

There was a reference to a transgender person in the strip less than two months ago, although the person was only referred to and didn’t actually appear:

Or “Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.” What a weird film that was and still is even by today’s standards.

I have a relatively new Panasonic and it has a button to push to change power levels. P10 is full-power (default), P3 is defrost..It replaced another Panasonic that I had for over ten years and it also had a button that cycled through power levels, although its display gave actual names to the levels..My current one also has a Popcorn button which sets power level and time for a typical microwave popcorn package.

So, strange. I noticed that the count had gone up by about 20 so began reading, but it appears that Go Comics plugged a string of posts into the middle of the sequence as well as the end. So, there were no new posts. It is a smaller version of that day it duplicated every post for about two hours.

In yesterday’s strip, Bernice was trying to deter Tiffany from coming to her silent movie showing, although she didn’t express herself clearly (presumably because she couldn’t articulate a good reason for Tiffany not to come).

I have a copy of that film on DVD, Bernice. Wanna borrow it? LOL

Spoiler: oh, oh. Tiff has a plan to help her current best friend and it involves movie night…

Calling this now, Piro is actually ASEXUAL and just doesn’t really care about love and relationships and that crap. He just likes crashing at places like the freeloader that he is.
