Gallagher said it best…if you feed it, water it, fertilize it and it still dies, it’s a plant. If you rip it to pieces and it grows back, it’s a weed.

As my mom would say, “Corn is a weed in a rose garden, and roses weeds in a corn field.”

the plants we love struggle and die. Other plants, left to their own devices grow in sidewalks and driveways…go figure.

A celebration of ignorance. Perseverance just takes a little longer and like life an eventual history will endure and return to the consternation of anybody.

Three great books about plants for anyone who’s interested:The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan, Weeds by Richard Mabey, and Lab Girl by Hope Jahren.

BTW, Wiley. . .this was cold, man, just cold. . .

P.S. Unless it’s an allegory or a parable (can’t every remember the difference), as debugger hints. . .as a celebration of life, it’s good ’til the last panel. . .

For those of you who " garden" , some weeds are very pretty….but if left alone, they eventually choke out all the “good” plants that cost you money to plant…not fair! Weeds belong in the wild…

My SIL gave me some seeds for a Cypress vine, which she promised would grow. It strangled my squash, throttled my tomatoes, and ruined my roses.Never confuse temptation for opportunity.

Boiling water; does a good job on the (unplanted) plants, and doesn’t poison the (wanted/other) plants!
