I worried about that. Whenever possible, I like to do comics pegged to holidays. But Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day are always a challenge for me and I usually give them a pass.In part this is because it’s so difficult to do something respectful that’s also funny. But the even bigger problem is that I have a very limited amount of art featuring servicemen. (And none featuring servicewomen.) I’m going to try and locate some panels of military comic art that I can use in the future. Hopefully, I’ll then be able to do something that’s more on the mark.
Back in ww2, a lady wrote to one of the local servicemen. He wrote back to honestly tell her he enjoyed the letters but intended to marry Inez Johnson when he got home.Helen Cash wrote him anyway. He forgot to tell Inez. She married Cecil Chancery.Campbell got home, found she was unavailable, married Helen. For several years Inez innocently had no idea why Helen hated her.I married her daughter.

I don’t think that this is really appropriate on Memorial Day

For a look at a truly appropriate romance comic for Memorial Day, check out this story featured by Jacque Nodell on her Sequential Crush site.
