    The Color Test:

    First try, I got 88%.

    Second try, 100%.

Meanwhile, I am most intrigued by Marian Marsh’s odd outfit.

You can never go wrong with John Cleese. And the Japanese are crazy about rhino beetles. They cost very big bucks here.

I’m a big fan of the Patrick O’Brien “Jack Aubrey” adventures. Beetle collecting seems to have been a popular hobby in the late 18th/early 19th centuries. If any of you enjoyed the Horatio Hornblower novels, you will really love the Aubrey books. You may have seen the movie “Master and Commander” starring Russel Crowe, which is based on a few of those novels. Please excuse the shameless plug. I’m a book pusher, as my friends will testify.

I got 100% on the second try of the color test. I am not sure what that proves, but I like getting 100%!

They could make a cool monster picture with that Rhino Beetle!

@locoowl - That color test thing is a ruse. Teresa, noted blue language (and banana gag) enthusiast, just likes Night Deposits because J.C. Duffy uses naughty words (some people are more easily titillated than others) (and nobody better not go mocking me with no ❤ Yes! We Feel The Love! ❤ label)

Report on The Blog from **Ray C the Gormless”

Ackinator: I beat him the first time with “Natalie Merchant.” He guessed Stevie Knicks. I felt kinda bad. Life has not been good to the Ackinator since he got fired from his day job: writing dialog for “Kathy.” Then I chose Mark Fidrych, former pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. Again, I won. He chose Shoeless Joe Jackson. Why him over a hundred thousand other former major leaguers, I have no idea. Ted Kennedy was also on that list, by the way. “Is he dead?” being one of the questions I answered “yes” to. I think Ack should maybe try out for the Dick Tracy dialog writer’s job which (we hope) will soon be open. “Artificial Intelligence is an oxymoron.” Petronius the Arbiter.

Incidentally, the word “oxymoron” is itself an oxymoron. In that sense, it beats the tar out “onomatopoeia” and “palindrome.’

I beat the Akinator! My character was legendary stop-motion animation pioneer Ray Harryhausen. Akinator guessed Norman Schwarzkopf, Lee Iaccoca, and Alan Greenspan.

For my next character, I chose Darth Vader, and Akinator got it right on the first guess!

Ah, I tried the Ackinator. He only missed one out of several tries. I was thinking of Adm. Grace Hopper & he guessed Georgia O’Keefe. However, when I allowed him to continue, he got Grace Hopper after another 3 questions.

I tried, David Carradine, Dwight Eisenhower, Gordon Lightfoot, C.S. Lewis, Kris Kristofferson, Aragorn Grace Hopper. He got them all (with the exception of missing one guess on Grace Hopper).

So I would say the Ackinator is pretty good.

The Akinator has gone down to defeat: Commodore Robert F. Stockton is apparently not in his database. Tch.

Teresa needs to call out her Whipping Boy! He has made off with the “o” in “Dorothy” and just left “Dorthy Stratten!”

Bad Whipping Boy. Vlad may have to deal with you for this!

I will second 3hourtour’s paean to FA’s greatness.

I would hope that F.A. will achieve more than just being an inxpiration for pop culture (Pop culture is so fickle and transitory). I believe F.A. will go down as one of the “Great” graphic endeavors in the Comics World.

While I read and enjoy the blog everyday, it is the F.A. comic which led me to the blog.

They are both a rich part of my day.

Bless you Teresa! For all that you do to entertain and inform us all. It is a thankless job, sometimes, but we are all the better for those who sacrifice to do it for us!

I tried Emo Philips on the Akinato. He got it on the third try.

His first guess was Andrew Dice Clay. His second guess was Steven Wright. Not too bad!

Isn’t Stacy Arthur alive? I thought it was her boyfriend, husband, manager or some such who was offed by an obsessed fan.

    Teresa,

Stacy Arthur wasn’t murdered. A “fan” who was also unfortunately a nut job murdered her husband and then committed suicide.

The Akinator has a mixed record on mad scientists. It got Tesla right away but was entirely unaware of J.B.S. Haldane.
