Wilberforce: Hey, Mom, can I stay outside later? We're playin' baseball under the streetlights.
Gladys: You can't hit a pitched ball with just the streetlights to see by!
Wilberforce: That's okay- we can't hit a pitched ball in broad daylight!

I’d suggest she let the kid play outside longer. It’s so unusual to see any of them playing anything that doesn’t involve a screen anymore…

Baseball is the best sport. If – as batter – you totally fail 2/3s of the time you are a star. If – as pitcher – you allow two runs for every 100 pitches, you are a Cy Young candidate.

@Bob. Not impossible, but would require an awful lot of foul balls to keep the run count down to 2.Each batter would have to go to full count and then foul off about 5 pitches.

Each batter would have to take the count to 3 and2, then foul off 6 or7 times before walking or striking out. After walking in 2 runs the pitcher strikes out his third batter to end the inning, recording 3 strikeouts,5 walks 100 pitches, and a very sore arm!
