Or there are those who decide to douse themselves in cologne rather than bathing. The combination of nasty body odor and way too much cologne gives me the dry heaves. Me being me I’ll do it right next to them so they know they are the cause.
You put on cologne and quickly get used to it so you don’t smell it. Unfortunately everyone else does. Something to keep in mind – a little goes a long way.
My son had a girlfriend whose sensitivity to perfumes was so bad that it could literally kill her. She had to invoke the ADA rules at her workplace. I am a bit sensitive, but nothing like she is. A very long time ago, I came across a list of “things you wish you could say” to people. The only one I remember was: “Nice perfume. I just wish you didn’t feel the need to bathe in it.”
Sometimes when someone smells like they bathed in a perfume/cologne, it could be just one you are sensitive to and so not a lot is needed to trigger a response. If EVERYONE thinks someone bathed in it, then they probably did. :o)
Today’s cartoon strikes me as funny but uncannily timely.
Just yesterday, I had some men’s cologne made up for me.
I can’t get my favorite without paying an arm, a leg and firstborn son for. I have , however , found a parfumeur who will replicate or create the exact scent you like.for a fraction of the price you’d pay for name brand.
I like eau de pizza & beer, but can’t get that one past my wife !
Opal won’t go near him for a week now. I always leave the house wearing perfume but I don’t spray lots of it on. Some of it already comes out in big amounts.xxx
Oh, yeah, it most definitely is possible to put on too much. My wife gets headaches in the presence of the overscented. We used to give rides to a friend who was very fond of overdoing Brut. I think it’s called that because it smells brutal. He had on so much of it one day that my wife was getting ill as soon as he entered the car. Despite the fact that it was about 20 degrees outside, we made him ride with his car window open until the smell had dissipated.
I had a public service job and was so happy when smoking in the office was no longer legal. However…..nobody ever put any signs up about stinky perfume being outlawed. Darn it.
I miss the days when smoking was common everywhere. The smoke never bothered me (still doesn’t) and I didn’t notice the stench from perfumes and such. Now I have to avoid most crowded places because of the stink that invariably exists from one or more of those idiots. They think they smell wonderful but they just stink. It was a real problem in the work place but now I’m unemployed and actually enjoying it quite a bit. I had one coworker I could tell was in the office before I even opened the door. Don’t miss that at all.

Sorry people; those deodorant sprays don’t cover up lingering cigarette breath, or clothing it adheres to !!!

Too bad this didn’t run yesterday. It would have been a perfect companion to yesterday’s OBH (classic) strip.
