Zonker: Mike, this is beginning to get unhealthy, man. You've been camping out here for a month! Don't you miss the real world? Mike: Why? What have I missed? Zonker: Lots of stuff! For one thing The White House was caught selling arms to Iran to get hostages released, and then using the profits to fund the contras. Mike: Hee hee! Zonker, no offense, but what were you on when you heard that one? That's without doubt the most inane, preposterous story I've ever heard! Zonker: You're right. I must have gotten it wrong... Mike: Next time, guy, just write it down.

Yes, that was about the most treasonable act any president has ever committed. Who was it, again?

Next you’ll be telling me that the DNC chose their candidate months before the primaries, held mock elections to give the appearance of democracy and the had everyone give speeches about party unity. Get in line sheeple. Time to drink the koolaid.

We in the United States, above all, must remember that lesson, for we were founded as a nation of openness to people of all beliefs. And so we must remain. Our very unity has been strengthened by our pluralism. We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free, and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief.Ronald Reagan, October 26, 1984

There’s kind of a parallel here. Brent Scowcroft, when asked if he had taken a cake in the shape of a key from Reagan to the ayatollahs, said “You know that’s not how I operate.” Later it came out that he had done just that. .“The paper reports that Trump Jr. reached out to a senior advisor to Kasich in May and asked whether the Ohio governor would be interested to join the ticket if he could potentially become the most powerful vice president in American history. "When Uday was asked if he had made that offer, he answered “You know that’s not how I operate.” Not a ringing denial.

When I travel, I find that people in other countries have a much better memory of what the U.S. has done than we do. Generally, it is just little things like ‘you bombed my country’ or ‘you killed my father’, you know – trivial stuff. Silly foreigners!

Anyone remember when it came out Nixon and the GOP interfered with the peace negotiations between LBJ and N Vietnam, prolonging the war for years, but it did help get Nixon elected.
