“Siks muns ago I cudden spel Geeneeus an now I Я one!”
An aside: I went to a local Mensa meeting one time … not as a member but by invitation from a member, who wanted to know whether I’d be interested in taking the test to join.
OMG. Dunno what it’s like elsewhere… but it was a roomful of squabbling, pontificating examples of arrested development, arguing over who was supposed to have brought what refreshments, what was on the agenda, and even where I was allowed to sit.
Annual Gathering is indeed their yearly convention’s title, though regional gatherings (pronounced phonetically their initials) have been more titillating
Of course most of us don’t mention our Mensa affiliation. Idiots with no personality? I like to think of Mensa as self-selecting — if you have no imagination than to think that being in a room full of quick-witted people is dull, then please go play Pokemon or something (which many of us do). I’ve attended Mensa’s Annual Gathering for more than 30 years; it’s my social highlight. (My wife’s, too — and we met in Mensa.)

We have a so called Mensa member in the family. No common sense. No real life skills. Boring. Needy. Kinda like a Vegan.

I was amused by the story in News of The Weird that the Mensa newsletter had to be recalled because it contained mulitple grammatical errors and typos

I saw an excerpt of one of their tests once. They insisted on so many wrong answers, I never even bothered.

The sign of true genius is taking a whoopie cushion to a Mensa conference.

My experiences with Mensans has been engaging and pleasant conversation, though my wife rolls her eyes a lot.
