Captain: If your father faked his death and is still alive, I have to tell Ray! EM:Why? Captain: Because Ray is mourning the loss of his father! No, he isn't. My dad made certain Ray jr. didn't like him. So, he did stage the whole thing! This is my favorite emoji expression:

I think we’re getting way far afield from Marcy and Joe. And I’m getting terribly confused as to who is related to who, and why any of it matters. Is this a spinoff of “Jump Start”? I rarely see the main characters of that strip anymore—the characters I actually like and care about.
And now I need some kind of ancestry.com chart to keep track of this story line: Yolanda is Joe’s boss, and married to Crunchy, Joe’s partner…and Ray is her…brother? And the spy is her sister? Ray was in jail, but now works at the hospital? or with Joe’s father? Ray inherited his father’s house, but his mother lives on the street? I guess I need to go back about 2-3 years of this strip to catch up…but it all just seems like a big, confusing mess that doesn’t have anything to do with Joe and Marcy.

How is that possible? Didn’t he die in Marcy’s hospital?

OK! OK! Let’s get off the stupid spymoji thing. Enough, already.

I liked the strip better when it was just about Joe and Marci and the kids. Once Robb started adding all these ancillary characters it just got confusing trying to remember who they are and what their backstories are. I read around 100 comics a day and can’t keep track of what’s going on with these minor characters.

Usually comics lose their mojo after about 10 years – a fresh idea every day for years is hard to pull off. Armstrong is doing a better job than most of pursuing new avenues for fresh ideas. But having everyone related to everyone else is confusing.

I like what he’s doing. He still spends time in the original characters with everyday things. Seems like there’s a few a week mixed in with the new characters and story lines. I like it. Of course,I like to mix things up and add new things. Not a big fan of repetition. I get bored. Thanks for keeping my interest and keeping me entertained, Robb. I say don’t stop.:)

I don’t mind new characters, but is this leading somewhere? Somewhere interesting??
