Well, if he’s gonna have a mid-life crisis, it’s alot better than cheating.

My husband did it backward. He had a gorgeous teal 1977 Firebird when we got married and now he has – by his own choice – a sturdy, responsible SUV.

Funny story. When we got married, a lot of the older women I worked with told me that, now that we were married, I should make him “get rid of the ‘toy’” (meaning the Firebird). I told them, “First of all, I don’t MAKE him do anything, and he doesn’t MAKE me do anything; we’re partners. Second, if he ever gets rid of that ‘toy’…I’LL kill him!”

He comes home with lipstick on his collar or he comes home with a sports car….hmmmmm.

Definitely think the sports car is a fine idea. However, I also think an enhanced insurance policy is in order to protect him in the sports car.

When it comes to cars, I work on the theory that it is easier to ask forgiveness, than to get permission…

In Canada our health care plan does not include dental. You have to get that as a perk of your job.

Dental care is private in Canada, as is veterinary care.

Ah, I’d forgotten about the sports car. I thought this was when he was going to get into model trains. I guess that was his second mid-life crisis.

Strange all the lies about Canada’s health programme. Back when it first started spreading from Saskatchewan in the late 1930’s, the AMA would spend a half million dollars telling doctors they could make a million the first year in practice in the US. Lots of laughing Canadian doctors back then. My doctor summed it up as, “I don’t think I practice medicine any differently now that I no longer worry about being paid.” It is no accident that the author of that system, Tommy Douglas, was voted the greatest Canadian of all time.

I got the sports cars out of my system when I was very young.

My second car was a 1954 Morgan Plus 4 that I acquired about the same time as my first motorcycle.

All of my young adult life and into my 30’s I had a series of foreign sports cars

    .

I eventually, for practical reasons, abandoned the roadsters for pickup trucks.

    .

My mid-wife…er…mid-life crises was the purchase of a new ( old 1957 ) Harley Davidson 1200cc.Panhead

LOL…when my brother in law turned 45, he went to a dealership, pointed at a sweet Mustang, and told the salesman, “Today’s my birthday, and that’s what I want. And my wife’s gift is that I’m allowed to get it!”

Cartoon I once saw: Man in dentist chair with dentist looking into mouth. Dentist calls to assistant: “Mary, call the Mercedes dealer and inform him I can afford that upgrade after all.”

I bought my mid life crisis car last year, a 2015 Mustang GT Premium. It was only the second brand new car I’ve ever owned. I turn 45 this coming Boxing Day.

" You can get a root canal faster than open heart surgery"Duh!!! No kidding Einstein, and if everyone had a million dollars to spare they would put a landing strip to the Mayo clinic so everyone could have a heart transplant the day after a lousy E.K.G.People who don’t like the Canadian health care system are welcome to try the one South of 49!
