What was your phone charger doing in this particular bathroom in the first place, Opal? (Better search for and call a locksmith with that last 5% and hope you can give the chap the address.)

I have 4 chargers here All in a different room, but not the bathroom. But I do see the urgency for Opal, I don’t think Earl has a cell phone so he wouldn’t have a charger for her to use.

All of our “indoor” locks have a small hole in the knob when you can poke a thin rod and unlock the door. We are in the habit of locking the outside doors when we leave the house and the kids used to lock their bedrooms from force of habit. That little hole saved many a panic attack.

This wouldn’t happen if you had a latch lock.

In a lot of homes, the bathroom is the ideal place for the phone charger. The outlets are at countertop height, and if you shave with a blade and don’t use an electric curling iron, you don’t need as many as they give you, so it makes sense to plug in your phone there. Outlets in the rest of the house tend to be at shin level, and more often than not behind furniture.

Hmmm, 50 years ago I`ll bet people said “how did we get along without TV`s, and automatic transmissions?” Time marches on…………. embrace it, or be left behind.

Inside door lock keys are pretty much the same, I always kept one above the doors of all such locks, for just such a situation.

I just got a land line phone bill of $62 for basic service. I do wish the cellphones worked at our ranch. We check those for messages about once a month…

When we built our house (and our sons were quite young), we put exterior knobs on the bathroom, and any other room that we wanted a lock. Had it keyed to fit the exterior doors. Then, if a kid locked the door, and wouldn’t come out, we could just use our house key to unlock it.I have multiple phone chargers – bedroom, bathroom, car, office, plus a battery pack that I can attach if it is running low, and I’m not where I can plug it into one of the other chargers.

You know there is locks that when the door shuts if left locked it auto unlocks. This way it prevents people locking it like this.

Many businesses have those types of doors

I just got a new phone and the charge port is a mini usb port, the same as my tablet, so I have several chargers if I misplace of ruin a charger (which I already did once).
