You are correct. We live far enough away from the athletic field that we can’t see the fireworks, but we do hear the noise.
I guess a witch has even more reason to fear fireworks, what with riding around up there on a (flammable) broom.

This is a reasonable fear around here. Some idiots in the neighborhood were shooting off fireworks for a couple of hours.
I would think they were more scared of rain – they melt, you know…
