I hope their garage is heated, ‘cause that’s where he’ll be sleeping all winter.

A life style way out of your tax range. And don’t forget the insurance and maintenance will bleed you dry faster than paying of the car.

I thought that being a dentist was a fairly high income job, so why are people saying he can’t afford it? Every dentist I know drive pretty nice vehicles.

I had a 1969 Lotus Europa S2 for six years. A dream to drive; a nightmare to own.

I’m glad I owned sports cars when I was young enough to enjoy them, and lithe enough to get in an out of ’em !

    .

A little sports car is not exactly ergonomically designed for a 71 year old, 6 foot, 220 lb. guy to gracefully enter and exit.

I’m 71, weigh 280+, 5’ 10’ tall. I have less trouble getting in and out of my 2015 Mustang than I did my Chevy Impala!

Let’s stick to the comics and not devolve into political, historical postings save where the strip directly deals with it.

    >

    How tall is John, anyway?!

Unless that sports car is a convertible or has a Sun roof…he’s gong to get headaches!

Thanks for your service USN1977! For those people; especially the generation born after 1975; read Bill O’Reilly’s book “killing the Rising Sun” It will explain what the war with Japan was all about. Schools now teach an altered historical account of what that war was about; If they teach it at all. We all owe the WWII generation a heart felt Thank You!

That is an unmarried lifestyle. And once you’ve paid the divorce lawyer, you won’t be able to afford the car payments, so you’ll lose the car, too.

Lynn said: “My husband once bought a very sporty little convertible; a replica. I forget the brand name, but it was a classic two-seater with leather seats and big googly headlights. He bought the hat, the gloves, and even shoes to go with it.”

At the risk of offending my American neibours,if you’re going to mention Pearl Harbor then you have to be willing to bring Hiroshima and Nagasaki into the conversation. And the total destruction of two cities along with the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilian men women, and children to (possibly) save the lives of a few thousand soldiers is a questionable strategy at best.

There are very few alive today who remember Pearl Harbor and fewer who survived the horror of the Japanese aerial attack, To all those survivors and their descendents, this day will always be remembered as: " A Date Which Will Live in Infamy "

    >

.On a somewhat lighter note, my late father-in-law used to say that he’d survived two disasters in one year – Pearl Harbor and his daughter…and she ( my Ex.) came first !

    .

It didn’t take me long to understand what he mean’t….

I grew up in the "pit’s on the dragstrips of California in the mid fifties and early sixties and we all got a great laugh out of the wanabe’s in the stands…We were very successful.. so there’s no ‘sour grapes…Just a good laugh at you fools who wouldn’t spend the time, sweat, money and loss of a normal family life to achieve it…Your wannabe clothes "sports’ cars,, and talk were just a bunch of tripe …And your wives knew it!
