Most beech trees like to keep their light brown leaves on all winter.

I have some trees that are bare and some that are have not shed a single leaf yet, but i live in the middle of a forest so i have many different kinds of trees, including cedars which don’t leaf at all. I don’t rake, that would be ridiculous. Raking a forest???….LOL…

Actually, the extended leaf drop situation has made it easier for me. I’ve been able to mow them to smithereens every 3-4 days. If they get too far ahead, the mower just can’t do the job.

My front yard has a lovely blanket of leaves.

Don’t understand people gathering and burning them.

    Hold water.

    Reduce erosion.

Obviously contain what plants need to thrive.

Live oak trees in Florida drop their impossible to sweep up tiny leaves all year round. The trees are never bare only the acorns indicate changes in seasons.

Our Chinese elms are only bare for about six weeks a year…they drop their leaves in mid December and leaf out again the first of February here in Phoenix.
