Boy: I figured out how to change my name without a big commitment. I'll still spell my name "Percy". But I'll pronounce it..."Iago".
Frazz: You do know lago was a bad guy.
Boy: Okay, now it's pronounced "Muhammad Ali".
In some recent fantasy films, “Percy” turned out to be short for “Perseus”, and he had superpowers inherited from his dad, the sea god Poseidon. May be too soon to try for something supposedly cooler.
Iago is Spanish for the English James or the Hebrew Jacob. There are many heroes with that name as well as villains. If you like the name, go with it. Even Adolph Baller, a Jewish Austrian-American pianist, did not see justification to change his name and I think he had far more reason than anyone named Iago.
Which school was that, what state, what time period? Since it is in some alternate crapsack world you can tell us. It makes as much sense as all this you write.

Prince had enough trouble when he called himself -—- for a symbol with no name. But go ahead, should be interesting.

I think Percy/Iago/Muhammad Ali must be related to Frazz. There’s a strong physical resemblance in the ears, nose, and eyes.

That similarity is just the drawing style, no more.

Another child with a name. That’s a good way to introduce new names, slowly. Of course “Percy” will be easy to remember, he looks like Charlie brown.
