It is so tempting to make a snide remark comparing Anansi to a certain man who was just elected President — but I wouldn’t want to be accused of stating the obvious!
No matter what one’s opinion of who was and not elected president, we need to support the one elected. If you do not like the outcome, you can more efficiently work within the system to effect a change than juvenilely riot and destroy others property.
Gammaguy: You made me look it up. You’re correct. Spiders are arachnids which are arthropods as are insects but insects and arachnids are not the same.

In casual usage it is acceptable for both spiders and bees to be referred to as “bugs.” What is not acceptable is to deny that they are “animals!”
