It’s one of those markets, isn’t it? You know the kind, full of strange and magical things, and when you go back it’s not there? And never has been there?
Discrimination since, business owners don’t technically have the right to refuse service to anyone because anyone could say its because (Insert protected class here) that they were denied service, regardless of the reason.
I know so sad right! I’ve seen that in my state where people who are part of a protected class file complaints and sue small business owners over trivial stuff and no small business owner has the funds to fight it. One case was a guy was being a jerk so the owner made him leave and then he filed a complaint saying it was cause he was gay, but the owner says he didn’t even know the guy was gay, he was just being a jerk to other customers…so the state got involved (gays are a protected class here) and the owner didn’t have the money to defend himself so he shut down instead. Later on the suppose gay guy, admitted he isn’t even gay he just wanted the store shut down and the owner never did anything except ask him to leave because he was harassing other customers and making them leave.
Oh and there was protesters outside with signs and stuff staying that the store won’t serve gays and caused massive loss of business too.
Don’t ever ask anyone to leave for any reason apparently, always serve everyone no matter what.
In response to Markmoss1 from yesterday-" our current mail carrier, who cannot tell E Elmore St from E Elm St. In a town that’s 12 blocks long and 6 blocks wide" — your town sounds similar in size to my town. What is your population? We’re just a tad over 1600.
To WDD from yesterday I did not know this cartoonist, John Hart died (or maybe I heard it and just forgot). When did he die? Are all these strips reruns? Our paper stopped carrying this strip years ago because people objected to the sometimes religious tones. I’ve always liked this strip.
