OK, I may be ridiculed for looking like an idiot, but I just don’t see it. What obvious thing am I missing here?

That resolution didn’t take long to break.

But wait, there’s no ridicule in having someone check your spelling! They find an error, you own up and fix it, no resolution broken. Sorry, this doesn’t add up.

This falls flat. It’s a false dichotomy. A willingness to own up to your mistakes and accept the ridicule for them doesn’t imply a lack of willingness to try avoid them, or lack of desire to not be ridiculed.

My point is that the joke is ruined on the face. I didn’t have to analyze it, the fault in the premise just right there.

I don’t have to make resolutions for the new year. I’m already pretty gorram amazing…

My resolution is 1440×900.

I resolve not to make any resolutions! Uh, wait….

He doesn’t want a misspelling to open him to ridicule, but in lots of cases, just making resolutions brings ridicule, especially when one remembers how few are ever fulfilled.

So if someone wants to post criticisms of a joke on GoComics, they should go to a different site to do so? Hmmm…
