No, it came on wax coated platters. Or we recorded music from the radio with our wire recorder.

Yes, vinyl is making a comeback. I literally sold over 700 albums at a garage sale for $1-$2 each. Oh well, no room for those things in my Florida retirement home. Can’t keep them in the garage! LOL

I know this makes me old… to the likes of Elliot…and even Templo….

but my sister and I broke my Mom’s favorite Perry Como 78,

while fighting over who got to play what record next.

My parents also owned a few LP’s….

But when I started buying records, it meant saving my baby-sitting money for a new 45 ..

and carrying it around in my little pink padded plastic album…

embossed with pictures of blonde, pony-tailed teens in poodle skirts.

As for weather… last week it dipped below freezing late at night….

25°F ( about -5C°) or so… but only for a few hours at a stretch.

    This week….

it’s raining raining raining (a great thing after 4 years of drought) …

and the cloud cover keeps the temps around 50° F…. which is 10° C..

But we suffer, we do…. cos it’s all in what you’re used to…..

and in N. Calif most of us don’t have winter jackets, storm windows, or furnaces.

I’m sure you’re all really sympathetic.

It was freezing here, but things are beginning to warm up today. We should be near 80 by the end of the week. Wooohooo!

It is 9-f (wind-chill of 4) at 7:30 in Baltimore. And it doesn’t look as if it’s going to get much warmer.

Well, here this morning (Eastern N Carolina) it is around 16deg F (I have forgotten the alt # for the symbol) Today it is supposed to get above freezing and towards the end of the week be close to 70F.I don’t know if this is our cold strech of the winter, (we generally get one severe cold snap per year)

I swear, I know different strokes and all that, but damn, why do people willing live in the great frozen North?

Does below 20F three days in a row count? Two of those were under 10F. Gonna make it all the way up to 29 today.

I used to have some old 78s with recording on one side only. Thick things.

Temp here in Central FL was 33 yesterday morning. A balmy 36 today.

    Question for everyone…..

What was the first song you ever bought and on what medium?

Mine was “Build me up Buttercup” on 45

It’s been freezing for so long I don’t know what non-freezing is like. Two more inches of snow today and two more tomorrow. Then more for the weekend. YUCK!

Had snow Friday night and all day Saturday. Hasn’t been above freezing since so nothing’s melting. Office closed today, open tomorrow. Supposed to be upper 60s by Friday. Typical winter weather for southeast VA.

It has been cold here. I try to hibernate when I can. Who knew I would enjoy a day waiting for the fridge repairman. Gotta love that 10-2.I had to go back to my profile and change my user name back. My first comment showed up as my real name. :-/
