my hands need lotion when it gets really cold outside

I’ve developed what my brothers and I call the Pa Walk.

Wait ’til you get her aches & pains!

…and catch glimpses of her in the mirror…when you’re the only one in the room.

Getting old. It’s not for sissies.

Awareness comes with age. Just look closely at the middle-aged relative you most resemble – hair, facial structure, physical build – and you will see yourself when you reach their current age.

Told that to a bunch of students, who were joshing me about being bald and baggy. Then, I told them, that when they were looking at their new ‘old’ face in their mirror, staring at them over their shoulder and laughing would be my spirit from whichever afterlife I finally deserved. Don’t know which bothered them more: that they would look like somebody they know and don’t like, or that I might actually come back to remind them of their days in my classroom.

I do not resemble my mum in any way – either looks or personality – but every once in a while I’ll find her hands at the ends of my arms. Scary!
