Prudence’s last name should be Miyagi. And some of you will miss the now very dated pop culture reference.

Like a self inflicted wound. Luann needs to get out and flirt with a guys she really does like.

I like to imagine Pru as an AI robotic life-form, the PRU-987. Her voice is that same oddly mechanical female voice that guides you through voice menus. “I didn’t GET that response. Please enter the last FOUR digits of your SOCIAL security number. THEN PRESS POUND.”

Pru: “If you’re no longer feeling the need for a guy in your life, Luann, you should just accept it and not let other people put you on the defensive. I admitted the same thing to myself a long time ago, and I’m at peace with it.”

At least you didn’t ask for Les! How about THAT, Pru?

Pru is perceptive

Pru has a very strange look on her face in the first panel.

Dang! Prudence has been reading the comments here on goco! How can she do that? She’s just a character! Breaking thru the 4th wall?

OMG – Pru brings a little maturity to this arc! Luann could catch up a bit if she started laughing…

Some time back, Tiffany did not want Gunther to leave her suite at Loony Uni and tried to stop him from leaving by claiming she needed more help with her schoolwork. So, here is the plan, Lu – next time you are going to be in the same place as Tiff, just show up with Gunther on your arm. Tiff will drop Jock faster than the speed of light to reclaim her Gunther.

That way, you can have Jock back. To tell him that you are not interested.

Pru is a very perceptive woman. But then it’s always easier when you’re looking in from the outside. This has nothing to do with Jack. It’s all about the senseless rivalry between Luann and Tiffany that’s been going on since they were little kids. It’s really not fair to Jack. He may be a “Neanderthal,” but he has some feelings and self-respect. He’s being used, and it’s just as wrong for women to use men as it is for men to use women. At least Pru seems genuinely unaware Leslie has feelings for her. What excuse do Luann and Tiffany have?

Pru nailed it! And Luann could still have a good time at the dog park with Jack, if only she wouldn’t let her jealousy/rivalry with Tiffany get in the way. Not that she will, of course…

The other day someone commented that Luann was upset and someone took issue with the word upset. Now that Luann has admitted to being upset, what do you say?

guess Prudence finished her Ramen.

How is Mrs. Horner? We miss her. Could use her wisdom.

Luann already burned Tiff with Quill in high school; then dumped him. Now Tiff gets Lu back. How long is Greg going to play this game?

Pru pretty much summed up the entire week with one sentence. Let’s see if we get a peek at what happened between Jack and Tiffany. I’m not optimistic we will get anything but Tiffany’s version.

Pru is always a voice of reason, and a person with only the most reasonable rationale reasoning, and motives. Her perceptive summary of what happened to make Luann so aggravated should have been stated as a declarative sentence rather than an interrogative, but dramatically it made sense as a question, if if grammatically it is a bit questionable. The next thing is what will Luann do with that knowledge? Remember Pru helped Luann get through her decision about breaking up with Quill. She is like a wise older sister in a way. As for Jack and Tiffany on paper it looks like a possible match, if and this is a big IF, you can assume in Luannverse, that there is more than shallowness, stereotypical tendencies for both. We know there is with TIffany, her story with Gunther brought out a much more sympathetic side to her, and Jack, hey if this jock can have a friend like Nil, maybe he is just a big, friendly guy, who likes girls, Is there anything wrong with that? Maybe this is what Tiff needs. I think Luann is cool, but in the end Tiff is more needy.

Is it just me or does Pru’s head look like it’s turned almost 180 degrees from her front in the last panel. At least over 90 degrees.

Hadn’t had my coffee yet, so Luann’s face really took me aback. She looks like the shape shifting salt-sucking monster on an old Star Trek episode.

I like this story direction and I am interested in both dates. I do think the dog park date is worth more, if Luann really wanted to know Jack better. Remember his fondness for his dogs.

So, now Pru has a clue?!

So she figured that out in 30 seconds, but can’t figure out Les is sweet on her?

Thank you Prudence – Voice of Reason! Perhaps this is why she is drawn with more “normal” proportions, especially the eyes as someone mentioned yesterday – she does seem to be a very centered, knowing person.

Yea, Pru is being a good friend to Luann — tough love, honest! I wonder if / when she gets to the tender love for L, it’ll play out lesbian or still be platonic? Nice to see more grown-up-ish themes unfold in this strip as it evolves. As I’m sure you know, middle aged people also have concerns, dynamics, libidos, insecurities, and egos too, so it’d be nice to see Luann’s folks become more 3-D, too. Kudos and Tally ho, Greg & Co !

Jack does have some say in all of this. After spending time with each woman he may decide to stop dating one or both of them, or continue to ask both of them out.

Jack is too much of a player to sulk for long. It probably hurt Luann’s pride that Jack lined up a date so soon after her rejection.

Thank-you Pru…there’s a purpose for every character (I believe) in this strip. Pru is Luann’s advisor and mentor. Dez plays a similar role for Bernice.

I look forward to more of ‘Jack & Tiffany’. They seem to belong together. I think Jack was brought into the strip, ultimately, for Tiffany.

Pru, thanks for speaking the mind of the SANE members of this comment section. There is a REASON why Luann is no longer featured much in her own comic strip. What do you think on them apples, Trufans?

Pru is right, pure and simple. But, she needs to get a more feminine hair style, and her eyes creep me out. Can you imagine seeing those eyes in a darkened bedroom? Eerie, spooky, frightening, like a serial killer.

As usual Prudence can see right through Luann. When will she finally declare she is in love with her?

Yes, I believe Pru has nailed it.

So, Luann, now what? A bit of maturing?

Actually – It seems like Luann and Tiffany have more chemistry in their rivalry than the other characters. Needless badgering sometimes reflects attraction.

Hopefully not another striptease by Greg & Karen. Please don’t jump to Ma Berger and Mr. Gray planning another dinner for four – leaving us in the dark about Luann and Tiffany’s dates, the missing TV, Les & Pru…..Piro…
