To avoid the “featured comment” thing that people have been disliking, you can call up today’s episode with the URL below. The “comments=visible” parameter makes all the comments load immediately. So you don’t see the “featured” and you don’t have to click anything more to see the comments.
I think it would have been really cool if Luann gave her Mom a really huge poster sized card that would have been hand made by her and all the little ones in the Kidz First program.
With her old hairstyle when she was younger, Nancy looks a little like Isabella Rosselini’s character, Dorothy Valens, wearing a wig in Blue Velvet. Her newer hairstyle looks more like Isabella’s natural hair.
Incidentally, that’s one of my favorite movies. Of course, some may find it a little over-the-top.
I have to wonder why this site keeps making changes that most people don’t think of as improvements. What was so wrong about displaying all the comments? If someone doesn’t want to read comments, they just avoid scrolling down…
Does anyone else have a problem navigating around because the page is so intent on Processing (ad) requests that other things (like posting a Comment) are delayed?
the comments take forever to load, it is so laggy with this new featured comment junk. Oh, and happy mothers day to all of the wonderful mothers in this world!

My indicator shows the page has loaded 360 COOKIES???!!!
It’s the way things have evolved, and it is, indeed, convenient, but technology does take a lot of the heart and soul out of expressing sentiments. Hand-writing cards and letters is becoming a lost art.
Hey it’s the thought that counts. Children have it all over us older people with mom’s because they put so much effort into those creations, and the word is EFFORT! They don’t have money to go buy stuff like older people can, but that does not mean the older person, such as a 19 or 20 year old daughter, loves her mom any less.
5 months later we still don’t have collections or any means of collecting the new comics….but we still keep getting all kinds of junk we don’t want, don’t like.

In the next panel, Nancy says, “Prudence! Can you show Luann how a proper daughter should act on Mother’s Day?”

I think that a card is still a good way to show you still care even though it required little effort

Look on the Bright Side, Nancy: Frank just gets the same old Crappy Ties on “His” Day.

For those who still have their Moms, be sure to give them a call ( if you can’t see them in person).

Love the Wilma Flintstone dress that Nancy wears in the hand-made card.

Luann still thought about her mom, went out and bought a card and made the recording. That’s more than some moms get.
