The greatest sign of the two week delay is the proving of truth of the supposed rants of what many would consider “fake news” the last couple of days. Surely, two weeks ago, Scott couldn’t have known that Donnie Junior would have – by his own e-mails – an admission of collusion and conspiracy – and with a traditional Republican enemy: The Russians.

Night-Gaunt49: Why do I continue to make excuses for this strip? Good question. I suppose it is because, long, long ago, I remember this as a strip where conservatives and liberals could get together and share ideas without name calling – and, in that galaxy far, far away, with Winslow as the token liberal, sometimes Scott would even allow Winslow to be “right.” I miss those days.

In an interview that Go Comics used to link below, there was an interview with Scott Stantis. In that interview, he mentioned how sometimes his characters take on a life of their own. One such character was the Lost Bunny of the Apocalypse. Sadly, that bunny – and his wife – took over the strip. The significance to me is, with the advent of the bunnies, gone was intelligent discussion of issues and philosophy. Carmen and Winslow became reduced to the “straight guys,” feeding whichever bunny we were visiting that week/month/year questions to which that bunny could give ridiculous answers.

Yes, the bunnies were Scott’s “whipping boys” (and girls), but that was the end of intelligent discussion of issues in this strip. Even this week, while not a bunny, the reporter is acting exactly like Scott’s bunnies, doing nothing more than insulting our intelligence.

Actually, traditional newspapers HAVE done a great deal to regain my trust lately.

Times: “Sources say Trump Jr met with a Russian lawyer who promised dirt on Hillary Clinton.”

    Trump followers: “FAKE NEWS!”

Trump Jr: “Ok, I met with them, but it was just about the Magnitsky Act, not Hillary.”

    Times: “We have the emails.”

Trump Jr: “Okay, here’s the emails. I met with them because they promised dirt on Hillary, but they didn’t deliver.”

    Trump followers: “…”

By the way, they NOW say that Trump didn’t know (DIDN’T KNOW about a meeting between his son, his son-in-law, his campaign manager, and a Russian operative that was believed to be about Hillary Clinton).

But just four hours after Trump Jr. agreed to the meeting, Trump Sr. said that he was going to hold a press conference containing revelations about Hillary in just a few days:

You know what gets me…..Stantis has smugly appropriated a person of color to patronizingly represent a point of view few if any would actually hold. Coward.

Darsan54 gets the prize today. He is right: Carmen is the most unlikely character to be espousing the views that Scott puts in her mouth. On the other hand, that may have been a purposeful design on the part of Stantis, hoping to “convert” people of color and women.

By the way, the prize is the same as always: An invisible facsimile: The greatest thing you never saw! Happy Wednesday, everybody!

Most of the media aren’t trying to (re?)gain our trust. All they want is our belief.

Carmen why are you picking on Fox ? They don’t know any better and need to be taught about responsible journalism getting their facts straight and not showing favoritism. They need to be more like CNN and MSNBC who are truly fair and balanced

Was he looking in the mirror when he wrote this weeks strips? During the election he repeated ever single lie that was told about Hillery.
