Mike is gloating. Check.

Sports metaphors (to go along with the trophy case). Check.

What will happen next? It could be:

1.Mike is showing some remorse for Martha in the final panel and this leads him to come of hiding and go over to Martha and have a conversation where they settle their issues and make up.

2.Mike leaves, finds Gordon and Lawrence to tell them how he finally got Martha but good, and they all high five Michael and congratulate him.

3.Martha goes home and her mother finds her crying. She finds out why and she calls Elly Patterson. Elly takes Michael aside and explains to him that making Martha choose between him and her friends is not okay.

4.The trophy case punishment works. Martha has learned her lesson. She confesses her guilt to Michael and apologizes for everything, and decides that she will dump her friends for him, because he is more important.

Michael, just get over it and discuss calmly with Martha why this all happened.

I wonder if Martha has learned her lesson. Her friend did demand that she tell her everything after she talked with Michael. He’s doing well to just leave her waiting.

Mike just isn’t a bitter person, no matter how hard he tries.

Michael discovers exactly why this is not a good game to play.

Martha waiting by a trophy case is a very subtle way of Lynn staying that Martha’s going to be a trophy wife in the future

Martha is so cute, Michael just can’t resist.

ooh it get’s better as you get older…why…cuz you have more funds to make the game more interesting.
